GTA 5 Online Premium Edition: What's in Epic Games Store Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack?

Get yourself everything you „Starter Pack“ contains, you get properties, vehicles, weapons and clothes for free in a worth of $9.000.000 GTA Dollars. You also get extra $1.000.000 in cash, but this could take up to 7-10 days to get it. All the sales you have will be shown with a dollar sign! Here’s what and how:

Frogger (on Elitas Travel click „Sort by Price“ once) you can request any aircraft vehicle you own by calling Pegasus on your phone (you can do that in your contacts). The helicopter are an essential vehicle in the game to travel from A to B
Dune FAV (on Warstock click "Sort by Price" once)
Weapons, Clothing & Tattoos (not on your phone but on the map)
Compact Grenade Launcher, Marksman Rifle, Compact Rife are avaliable at every Ammu Nation Gun Shop (Pistole sign at the map)
(Stunt Race & Import / Export Outfits, Biker Tattoos)

Some more tipps:

Solo Public Lobby: really worth it if you wan’t a online session for your own/friends and don’t want to be killed by other players randomly. Press ESC + CONTROL and look up for „resmon“ in your search line. You will find a sort of Task Manager. Find GTA5.exe > right click > hold on the process > wait for like 7sec > right click > continue the process. Now all players will be kicked.
How to turn off your car radio: Yes, I have been asked about this. If you want to change your radio channel or turn your radio off press Q.
What weapons to use as a beginner: Buy the Mikro SMG to shoot out of your car and the Special Carabine to fight NPCs and equip them unconditionally with a silencer and an extended clip as quick as possible. It costs about $40.000 with extensions each. The Homing Rocket Launcher ($75.000) is also an important investment if you need to shoot down helicopters. Also buy Sticky Bombs, they will be really useful.
Learn to fly! On the map is a plane sign, which is a flying school. Flying is a really important part in the game and you have to get known with the controlls of it. You also get a bonus of $230.000 Cash if you complete all flying lessons with a gold medal.
How do I find people to play heists with: If you have no friends who want to play GTA with you there are of course other opportunities. On specific subreddits like HeistTeams or gtafriends you will find people who are solo players too and need heist members. There are also GTA community discord servers like the one from the youtuber TGG: here. You will never be alone!
Weekly Discounts/Bonuses: really worth to look for that. It changes every Thursday at 10 CET. On gtaonline it will be pinned on top of the subreddit. There may be huge sales for cool vehicles and properties (for example 40% off). Sometimes there are double or triple $ and RP events, which is extreme worth grinding. Like for this week 2x for bunker sell (during an 2x money event on the stock of your business the value is already doubled!). Do the Time Trial which you can do once a week to get a $100.000 each. How to drive these races "the right way" and where to find them can you look up on the pinned discount posts on gtaonline.
Lucky Wheel: In the casino you can spin the Lucky Wheel every 24h. Prices are Money, RP, sales, clothes and the podium car. The podium car changes with the Weekly Discounts every Thursday and you can with the car every week (Tipp: When it says S to spin the wheel count to 1,2 ,3 in your head to have a higher chancer to get the car).
Best investments: For absolute beginners for sure invest in the cheapest High End Apartment Del Perro Heights Apartment 7 ($200.000) on the Dynasty 8 website where you get the opportunity to play your first heists. Play the Fleeca Job then (about $80.000 earnings), where you unlock the sale for a Kuruma ($525.000) which is a must have car for beginners. It’s fully armored and you can literally do every missoins with it because the NPC’s can’t shoot you in there. It can be bought on SouthernSanAndreasAutos**.com.** And if you want to upgrade your helicopter get the Buzzard Attack Chopper for $1.750.000 with machine guns and the essential missiles. In my opinion the best investment you can make to grind for money. It can be requested everywhere for free instead of $25.000 if you are registered as CEO (open shortcut menu with M>SecuroServ>CEO Vehicles>Buzzard).
Fast Money: There are plenty of guides on Reddit how to make quick cash in grinding. (Money Grinding) My recommendation: Play Heists with friends who are high level. If you are alone or new with your friends go for Contact Missions (How: ESC >Online>Jobs>Rockstar Created> Missions) Every Contact Mission gives you about $10.000-15.000. The longer you play a Contact Mission, the more money you will get. But on the long run it's more worth it to play the job as quick as possible (in 4-6min $115.000/h and remember with double $ and RP event $230.000/h) Each player in the mission increases the payout by 10%, so best is to play in a full round. (Payouts and other questions for Contact Missions here).

Businesses:

There are plenty of businesses you can run. You own the Bunker business and one M(otorcycle)C(lub) Business . Go to the location of your business, do the setup missions and refill your supplies regualary. In each of this businesses you can improve your production by buying equipment upgrades and staff upgrades (first buy the cheaper staff upgrade then equiment upgrade). You can also buy security upgrades because your business will be raided by NPCs (like Police) and trough this you can minimize the probability of raids. The security upgrades doesn't affect your production! (but in my opinion not really worth it because you still can be raided). You can steal or buy supplies. If you didn't bought the upgrades yet, steal the supplies. If you have all upgrades who improve the production of your business buy the supplies for $75.000. The businesses stock will fill in a certain time, but you have to be online in the game! If you have good stock you can sell your products (invite friends for that). Always sell to the best priced location. (Los Santos most of the time) And go in a public solo session, you don't want your products destroyed by some idiot, random player. If your vehicle gets destroyed or you was not able to deliver everything you will lose money. Business is easy money for doing close to nothing + during the time your business fills up you can grind on other Missions or the Special Cargo Crate Missions, whatever you like. Choosing the right location for you business is very important! Look that your businesses are as close together as possible. You will drive crazy going 7 miles all the way up on the map just to look how many supplies you have left. Here's a map for all properties there are, so you can choose the best locations for yourself!
Don’t buy the nightclub business as a beginner! You will need the other businesses first to play missions in the nightclub + to get in running you need to pay millions for the 5 mechanics who will farm the money for you.
You can switch between beeing a CEO or MC President: Open your shortcut menu with M. .To retire as a CEO go to SecuroServ>Retire. To retire as a MC President go to Motorcycle Club>Disband MC.
You can add somebody to your CEO Organization or your Motorcycle Club: to add someone as CEO go to SecuroServ>Hire associates and select who you want to add. As a MC President go to Motorcycle Club>Find prospects and select who want to add. With this function your friends can help you do to deliver your products.
Bunker Business: In the bunker you can decide between Manufacturing, Research or both. For money do Manufacturing only. On Research you don't get money, you will unlock weapon upgrades for particular vehicles which also costs money to be customized on your vehicle (Research takes a lot of time and their 51 different weapon upgrades which takes about 7 days if you run it non stop) Doing both may sound smart, but it takes twice as much of the time it would normally take. So doing both is not worth it. If you sell solo sell your stock at $125.000 with no upgrades and at $175.000 with upgrades for one vehicle. For higher stocks invite friends to help you. MC Business (Motor Club Business): Your sort of command center for all the businesses will be your clubhouse. The best clubhouse is the Grand Chapparal Clubhouse. It's the cheapest and will be located near your businesses. You can own 5 different MC Businesses ($/hr with staff- and equipement upgrade + recommended location): Cocaine Lockup in Alamo Sea ($46.500/hr); Methamphetamine Lab in Grand Senora Desert ($29.500/hour); Counterfeit Cash Factory in Grand Senora Desert ($27.000/hr); Weed Farm in San Chianski Mountain Range ($24.000/hr); Document Forgery Office in Grapeseed ($12.000/hr). Special Cargo Missions: In your CEO Office which is directly located next to your High-End apartment (if you bought the one for 200k) you can grind the Special Cargo Missions. You have to buy a warehouse and source crates. There are three kinds of warehouses: small, medium and large warehouses. The bigger it gets, the more money will it costs but the more you can store in there. You can choose between stealing 1, 2 or 3 crates. Always go for 3 crates. It is the expensivst but you will get the most money out of it in the long run. There is a 5min cooldown between every mission, so people buy a second warehouse to instantly start the next mission when they arrived at the Office (Yes, it's annoys to always wait). Cheapest small warehouse $250.000 (16 crates space, full stock sale $144.000 profit), cheapest medium ware house $880.000 (42 crates space, full stock sale $483,000 ) and cheapest large warehouse $1.900.000 (111 crates space, full stock sale $1,554,000 ). (table of profits and time it needs to fill) If you do solo, sell every 9 crates stored to get only 1 vehicle!
Import/Export Business: A CEO Mission (on your Office Computer "Vehicle Cargo"), where you steal cars and source them into a garage. The cheapest garage is $1.500.000 and you can buy in on your Office Computer. There are three catergories of cars: Standard, Mid- and Toprange. The top range cars are the one you want to sell. You can always tune them up for $20.000 and for delivering you get $100.000 which means about $80.000 Profit if you not damage the car. (Sometimes you will be attacked while you steal/deliver the car) There is an algorithm that if you have 10 Standard- and 10 Midrange cars in your garage, you will only get Toprange cars. Always tune them up before you sell and never sell Standard or Midrange cars except you really need the money. You always want to go for the Toprange cars to get the most money out.

Final word

These are just some recommendations in how the game works and what variations there are to make fast money. You can still choose your business locations for yourself, but I recommended the best and effectivst (in my opinion). The most important part is to have fun in playing the game. There are pretty good guides on Reddit and also on Youtube. It’s really worth reading/watching these if you want money. The Guides on Reddit are much more precise. But keep in mind, you have to invest plenty of time to get rich. It’s not done tomorrow.
And please, don’t be an asshole in the lobbies. Be a friendly and nice player and do not kill players and destroy their cargos. Every GTA Player hates this kind of people and remember, high level players are stronger and will go for revenge. They will target the shit out of you until you just want to quit the game.

One more roundup before we leave, alas. Regions are still super approximate. I updated some previous rankings as well.
Tallies: 137 in the Denver metro; 66 in the rest of the Front Range; 33 in the rest of the state. We've visited a total of 236 breweries, cideries, and meaderies in Colorado.

The Rest of the Front Range

• 300 Suns (Longmont): This brewery served me both a smoked cherry sour (YES) and a red ale with a distinct barf aroma, so I'm really split here. Overall, I'm not excited.
• Avery (Boulder): Say what you will about their distributed lineup, but their taproom has some of the cooler small-batch brews out there. We got to attend their invitational twice; it's one of the best beer fests around.
• Berthoud Brewing (Berthoud): The better of two options in this tiny town. That's not saying much.
• Black Bottle (Fort Collins): Big tap list with lots of variety, usually good, sometimes uneven. I once found a lichtenhainer on tap here. I may have squealed.
• Black Forest (Black Forest): Surprisingly good brewery in a tiny forest town just outside the Springs. Better-than-expected beers, sizeable lineup, nice people.
• Brues Alehouse (Pueblo): I guess they're the best thing I've found in Pueblo, but that's a backhanded compliment if ever I gave one.
• Buckhorn (Loveland, RIP): A brewery the size of a small living room with 4-5 beers on tap. The brewer came and chatted with us for a while and seemed like a super nice guy. They made some really cool stuff, including a no-boil, no-hop lacto stout that blew my mind. They shut down not long after we went.
• Cerberus (Colorado Springs): A highlight in the Springs with very good food, too.
• City Star (Berthoud): Nice tap list on their website seems to be months old. Neither of us cared for their actual lineup much.
• Cogstone (Colorado Springs): Friends told us to go to try their chips 'n' salsa beer, which, yes, does taste like chips 'n' salsa. We didn't love anything here.
• Colorado Mountain Brewery at the Roundhouse (Colorado Springs, multiple locations): Bland gastropub with blah beer.
• DC Oakes (Fort Collins): Standard-issue brewpub with its own beer. Nothing to write home about.
• Dostal Alley Casino & Brewpub (Central City): Central City is a gorgeous Old West mountain town where the soulless casinos now seem to outnumber any sort of non-sleazy business. Naturally, when we found a casino with a built-in brewpub boasting GABF medals for their dry stout, we went. Unsurprisingly, the place was sleazy and crappy, with a few phoning-it-in beers and slot machines built into the bar.
• Dratz (Loveland): They were brand new when we visited, and very nice. The beer was... not good. Hope they work out their initial difficulties.
• Echo Brewing (Frederick): Just three weeks after visiting, I remember nothing at all about this brewery, but my Untappd ratings of their handful of run-of-the-mill styles were low. Evidently I wasn't impressed.
• Elevation (Poncha Springs): Does this still qualify as the Front Range? I flippin' adore Elevation, makers of the single best pilsner I've ever had. One of the very best middle-of-nowhere, small-town breweries I've been to.
• Elizabeth Brewing (Elizabeth): Small-town brewery in conservative Douglas County. Pretty meh throughout.
• Equinox (Fort Collins): Pretty good, nothing amazing.
• Estes Park Brewery (Estes Park): Unremarkable.
• Fieldhouse (Colorado Springs): Everything was really middlin'. Tons of dogs, which is always a bonus for me.
• Finkel & Garf (Boulder): Solid, but didn't live up to the hype for me. Seems like they just play it ultra-safe.
• Florence (Florence): Solid with a large tap list in a tiny town far off the beaten path.
• Fossil (Colorado Springs): Solid, but unexciting. Super duper nice people.
• Funkwerks (Fort Collins): Oh, hell yeah.
• Gilded Goat (Fort Collins): Nice, not amazing.
• Goat Patch (Colorado Springs): We finally visited when we were stuck in the Springs after a blizzard closed all roads back to Denver. Pretty good, not amazing brewery in what looks like a former high school converted to gentrified hipster mall space.
• Gold Camp (Colorado Springs, apparently no website): We felt a bit guilty because we got to meet their fabulously nice brewer, but just didn't care for their beers. They seemed closer to homebrew quality at the moment.
• Great Storm (Colorado Springs, RIP): Really nice with some unusual styles and creative ideas. Friendly people. Closed soon after our visit; now Atrevida Brewing.
• Grimm Brothers (Loveland): Cool taproom, some really nice beers.
• Grossen Bart (Longmont): I was kind of disappointed. A lot of beers seemed really off style or just unremarkable.
• Gunbarrel (Boulder): Good IPAs and a nice rosemary beer.
• High Hops (Windsor): Gorgeous patio with view of hop field and gardening center, with a small distillery attached. The beer isdecent, not remarkable.
• Industrial Revolution (Erie): I wanted to like them, based on their shtick. I think we left all of our beers unfinished. Nope.
• Intersect (Fort Collins): Unabashed hipster taproom with piles of old records. Nice folks. Beer generally good, nothing great.
• Iron Bird (Colorado Springs): Nice, but largely unremarkable.
• Jessup Farm Barrel House (Fort Collins): My surprise favorite find on our second CO vacation and one of the very best wild/sour breweries around.
• Kettle & Spoke (Boulder): We kind of just wound up here because they're down the street from Redstone. We found a tiny taproom inside a bike shop with some of the best IPAs in recent memory, and a fantastically nice brewer who offered us an impromptu tour of the production space.
• Left Hand (Longmont): They're exceptionally solid, and I wish they'd strut their stuff a little more. Their Juju series of ginger brews has a special place in my heart.
• Local Relic (Colorado Springs): An experimental brewery in a gorgeous old church that prides itself on never making the same beer twice. They blew our minds the first time we went, and we were in their expensive-ass beer club for a while. Their "no repeats" philosophy unfortunately means that they frequently have several super similar batches on tap at once, a lot of their beers could really use a trial run, and they often bottle things before they're ready. After a few too many bottle bombs and undrinkable yeast shakes, we pretty much stopped going.
• Locust Cider (Boulder): The standard cidery model where everything's inoffensive and the business model is "bring that friend who doesn't do gluten." I just don't care about this form of cider at this point, but they do it just as well as everyone else.
• Loveland Aleworks (Loveland): We like Verboten more, but these guys are another fabulous Loveland spot.
• McClellan's (Fort Collins): I don't care much for British styles, but we enjoyed the beer, food, and a great conversation with a member of the brewing family here.
• Nano 108 (Colorado Springs): Tiny taproom that we really liked in 2015. We went back in 2018 and found some stellar options (their rauchbier omggggggg) and several brews with off-flavor issues. Come for the German styles here; I'm not crazy about their IPAs.
• New Belgium (Fort Collins): Did the tour, visited the taproom. They seem like a good company that just embraces inoffensiveness a bit too hard. Then they sold out, and now I haven't bought anything from them in years.
• The Old Mine (Erie): Good cidery in a gorgeous old brick building in a tiny town.
• Open Door (Longmont): Had good lagers and saisons here. Super nice people in a chill spot.
• Periodic (Leadville): At 11k+ feet, this must be the highest craft brewery we've visited. OK beer, spotty service.
• Phantom Canyon (Colorado Springs): Great beer and service the first time we came, mediocre at best the second time, and only OK ever since. Food is pretty good.
• Redstone (Boulder): Likely the biggest of the tiny handful of meaderies currently in CO. Their stuff trends sweeter than I like, but they have some cool varieties (sunflower mead = yes) and wonderful taproom staff.
• Rocky Mountain (Colorado Springs): Long-running brewery on the outskirts of the Springs. Some sugary sours and hard lemonades that weren't up my alley, along with a very good barleywine. We chatted with the brewmaster for a while, who was a super nice guy.
• Royal Gorge (Cañon City): The only brewery in town and one of few places to grab a bite. They only had one or two of their own beers, which were homebrew quality. Keep driving.
• Shamrock (Pueblo): Like everything about Pueblo, this place was a total disappointment.
• Soulcraft (Salida): Another pretty good small-town brewery a few miles from Elevation.
• St. Vrain (Longmont): Really excellent cidery with multiple ginger ciders and great guest taps.
• Timnath Beerwerks (Timnath): Extremely solid, nice people. They're also more or less down the street from the Swetsville Zoo, one of my favorite roadside attractions in the state.
• Tommyknocker (Idaho Springs): Gimmicky and never better than all right. Two blocks from Westbound & Down, which is the indisputably better option.
• Trinity (Colorado Springs): I've no idea how it took me several years to get to the only brett-focused brewery I've ever found. Huge, consistently good tap and bottle list, great food with good veg options, nice staff. My best brewery find in the Springs to date. They sold in 2020, and we haven't been back since.
• Twisted Pine (Boulder): Solid with some interesting ideas, including a good basil beer.
• Uhl (Boulder): They took over Wild Woods' space in 2020 and opened during the shutdown. They had a few promising weird options, including an unexpectedly lovely peanut butter beer.
• Verboten (Loveland): Our absolute favorite in town. Creative, irreverent, and spot-on.
• WeldWerks (Greeley): I fussed for so long about wanting to come here that it was inevitably kind of a letdown when we finally went. Their beers are good, make no mistake, but definitely not "drive an hour and a half to get it" good.
• Westbound & Down (Idaho Springs): Another hypey place. The beer, food, and service were all good on our first visit but sorta uneven on subsequent trips.
• Wild Cider (Longmont): Standard-issue, above-average cider. Lovely outdoor seating with a gorgeous mountain view.
• Wild Woods (Boulder, RIP): We stumbled in during their anniversary party and loved them. Their smoked yam beer rocked my world. They sadly closed in 2019.
• Wiley Roots (Greeley): ... and now I'm going to contradict the above statement re: WeldWerks directly. Wiley Roots, just around the corner from the above, is worth that drive. Their wild ales are lovely, and while their adjunct stouts can be hit and miss, they're immensely solid overall. Massive pluses include an unusually nice taproom crew, a fluffy brew cat with her own Instagram account (@midnightbrewcat), and the lovely Syntax Distillery next door.
• Zwei (Fort Collins): Kicks the crap out of Denver's Prost as far as I'm concerned. Good beer, great people.

The Rest of Colorado (South, West, Central)

Current category tally: 33

• Angry James (Silverthorne): Pretty much anywhere I go on the way home from the stellar Outer Range isn't really going to get my heart rate up, but we enjoyed our stop here.
• Animas (Durango): Nice and solid; nothing exciting here. Food isn't great.
• BierWerks (Woodland Park): Most of their taps were other people's beers, and the couple of in-house brews we managed to try ranged from so-so to not good. Oh, and they have a Nazi map on the wall for some damn reason!? Ute Pass across the street is an all-around better option.
• Breckenridge (Breckenridge): Macro brewery in the "guess you have to go once" category. The beer was exceedingly mediocre, food was so-so.
• BREW Pub & Kitchen (Durango): My favorite in Durango tbh. Oh, and their food is good, too.
• Broken Compass (Breckenridge): Solid.
• Carver (Durango): Nice people, good brunch. Their beer won't blow your mind, but it's usually solid.
• Casey Brewing and Blending (Glenwood Springs): We bought tour tickets and made a weekend trip out just to go to Casey. My affection for sours is on a steep downward slope, but Casey is stellar, and the tour was delightful and totally worth doing.
• Colorado Vineyards/Rocky Mountain Winery (Palisade): Including them here because they make a lot of mead, which I like, but don't love.
• Eddyline (Buena Vista): Middlin', IPA-focused place in the horrifically named Byoona Vista.
• Glenwood Canyon (Glenwood Springs): One of those breweries that only seem to stay in business because they have a central spot in a tourist town. Nothing interesting here.
• Guanella Pass (Georgetown): Most of the beers we tried were yeasty af. No love from me.
• High Alpine (Gunnison): We stopped here after a trip to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, out of our minds with natural beauty. The beer was, unsurprisingly, nothing to write home about, but the food was outstanding and the staff was delightful.
• Highside (Frisco): It's hard to look good when you share a ZIP code with Outer Range. Run-of-the-mill small-town brewery with food, nothing to write home about.
• Mad Jack's Mountain Brewing (Bailey): We pulled off 285 here one afternoon to get out of the rain. Small tap list and tiny tap room, but pretty good beer and a killer food truck out back.
• Main Street (Cortez): Another small-town brewery with not much going.
• Meadery of the Rockies (Palisade): The better Palisade meadery. Again, they like their mead sweeter and gloopier than I do, but it's lovely in small quantities.
• Mr. Grumpy Pants/Ourayle House (Ouray): I like the guy and his shtick a bit more than the beer, but it's definitely the better brewery in town.
• Ouray Brewery (Ouray): The douchey tourist trap option in beautiful Ouray.
• Outer Range (Frisco): The hype is real. ORB makes hands down the best NEIPAs I've ever had, and a stunning range of them. "Downside:" NEIPAs are basically all they do. They have a couple of Belgians, but if you're not into hazy IPAs, this place really isn't for you.
• Palisade Brewing (Palisade): Solid, unexciting.
• Paradox (Divide): One of the best sour-focused breweries around. They may have the most stunning mountain view of any brewery I've been in this state, and that's saying a lot.
• Riff Raff (Pagosa Springs): One of those breweries where they put your pint down in front of you, you take one sip, and you're ready to head out.
• Rockslide (Grand Junction): Nice space, so-so beer.
• San Luis Valley (Alamosa): We stopped here on our way back from my birthday trip in 2019, which coincided with a blizzard that shut down the entire Denver metro. Their beer and food were forgettable, but the fact that I was worried sick about getting home to our pets (we didn't until 24 hours later) the whole time we were there didn't help matters.
• South Park (Fairplay): We stopped here to escape a crazy cloudburst. Beer was OK, food was OK, neither was anything I really need again.
• Steamworks (Durango): Ranges from really good to barely decent. Decent food.
• Telluride Brewing (you guessed it - Telluride): Quite good brewery with nice people in one of the more picturesque mountain towns out there.
• Three Barrel (Del Norte): Ah, Colorado. Where else do towns of 1,700 in the middle of nowhere have breweries with sahtis and sours on the menu?
• Two Rascals (Montrose): Unremarkable.
• Ute Pass (Woodland Park, RIP): This brewery had four different wits on tap, including two black wits.
• Vino Salida (Salida): Yes, tiny Salida and Poncha Springs have two good breweries, a distillery, and a meadery. Dayum.
• Wolfe (Pagosa Springs): Pleasant small-town brewery.

Alois sat up dazed and mumbling unintelligibly upon receiving a gentle kick from Chandragupta.
"Bonjour", he yawned somewhat flippantly.
"No more drinking. Henceforth."
"Well--"
"No more, until we're out of this. This is a raid. We need you at the top of your game. You've raided before, yes?"
"I was among the boarding party on the Leviathan."
"This is worse. Eyes up, Guardian", Chandragupta left him with a friendly pat on the shoulder.
"Hey, Windsor... you... well, you spend a lot of time here. Does the impending task at hand carry as much weight for you as it does for me?"
"Clarify?"
"The original raid on the Four Winds Bar... that was kind of a big deal, no? In a way I think it's directly responsible for the general status quo of the last four years or so. Even the fucking Red War didn't impact the Lanterns quite as much, y'know? Like, obviously it... Well, maybe it's just me. You were already running raids with the Lanterns when I met you."
"No, I think I agree, not fully, but that raid took us from a small team with lots of little acquaintances to a proper social circle of brothers in arms... erm, 'brothers' might be a bad term considering all the rampant sex. Anyway, you've been around for the majority of the time our fireteam has existed, and even before you were sworn in officially, you were there for Oryx, and you were there for the Trials of Desdinova."
"Hell, I was more there for Oryx than you were."
"Just as well. You're the one he came all this way to see."
"How's it feel to have landed the girl who the Taken King himself personally came all the way here just to kill?" she said, sauntering over and bringing her arms lazily together around his neck, resting them on his shoulders.
"Well, when you put it that way, it's liable to go to one's head."
"You really suck at flirting."
"Eh, yeah..."
Eldris laughed and resumed working on her loadout. Windsor watched her as he absentmindedly cleaned his sword, his focus much more on her than on actually preparing his weapons. "Do you actually need to maintain anything or can you just, like, will your weapons into perfect working order? Being a priest of this place and all", she asked.
"Well, I'm still very new to this. I've been a Paladin of Four Winds for almost no time at all, and I am alive in the physical world, at least as alive as any other given Risen. I don't have thousands of years of experience like Chandy; I can travel to the Bar and between Aspects, but it's a lot more limited than the way he can. For all intents and purposes, I'm just another Guardian, but with... perks, that happen to require a lot more time to master than I have so far had."
"You pulled all of us into the Four Winds Bar, though."
"Probably helps we were not only being summoned specifically, but also have, for at least most of us, been here before, and as such knew what to expect."
"Well, I'm still impressed. It's certainly something I can't do."
"You could, potentially."
"Well... I'm not so sure it's my bag. If I'm being honest, I don't know how to feel about this place. It's certainly fascinating, but... also gives me a feeling I can't quite put my finger on. Like I don't belong here. I don't want to think about what happens after my final death, but it scares me to think I could end up in a situation like this, going on a fuckin' raid because otherwise my consciousness gets turned into an animalistic parasite, and if I fuck up I just end up suffering anyway."
"Well, I have my biases, for sure. I don't want to be the pushy sort that tries to convert their girlfriend, but I know that if I were to speak of it, that notion would hang in the air."
"Well, don't feel like you can't talk about it. Just be understanding, is all I ask."
"Hey, you two." Windsor and Eldris turned to face Chandragupta. "We're briefing. Meet at the docks."
"Hello, my name is Chandragupta, welcome to briefing, sit on the boat! We've gathered here today to appease a pair of feral lich kings in order to stop them from wreaking devastation upon the Aspect of Mykonos. I have a sinking feeling this isn't going to go completely according to plan, seeing as the grave goods are already damaged, so prepare yourselves for a wild ride. The golden rules are to stick together to the best of our ability--we almost absolutely WILL be separated at some point, so keep your ghost lines open. Speaking of", he said, turning to Illyria and Freya.
"Artemisia returned to me last night", Illyria confirmed, her ghost fluttering out as confirmation.
"I... I don't know how to reach Fenriz..."
"Well, Freya, lemme teach you. OK, so pull out your ghost."
"What?"
"Just pull out your ghost."
"I haven't had Fenriz since--"
"Just... pull him out."
Freya, frustrated, did as bade, and nothing happened.
"I told you--"
"Fenriz isn't any more dead than you are, and as your ghost he is eternally bound to you. Pull out your ghost... and keep an open mind. Things are not the same in here as they are out there."
Freya made an honest attempt to call forth her ghost, with faith, if not conviction, that it would work. Fenriz faded into being, as if through a garbled, faulty transmat.
"AAAHH!!! Auh... oh... Freya! You're alive! I'm alive! Wait... what?"
"Neither of you are technically alive, this is the Four Winds Bar, it's raid time, she can fill you in on what you don't pick up. And, uh, Kessel... how're you now? Got your ghost?"
"N--no...." Kessel mumbled, his already-nervous expression becoming further stressed.
"What's his or her name?"
"I-Iggy..."
"All right, shouldn't take all that long provided he's OK wherever he is. He'll likely bind back to you once we're onboard."
"You couldn't do that for me?" Freya asked.
"No, because you're capable of doing it yourself. I'm honestly not sure Kessel should really be a part of this..."
"Let me. Please. I can fight. I haven't... been a Guardian in so long... please..."
"Well, if you insist, I won't stop you. And Freya, your armor? A sweater and cargo pants aren't exactly gonna protect you. Just picture... whatever you want to wear, in your mind's eye, and have Fenriz put it on you. Go ahead. Try."
Freya, her confidence bolstered by Fenriz's presence, imagined a high-quality set of Vanguard-certifiable Hunter armor, the plating shaded a deep crimson, the leathers a rich brown, light but thick, and a dark mauve cloak, long, flowing and of sumptuous silks.
What ended up materializing on her was a decent-quality, Crucible-authorizable version of what she envisioned, her cloak a cheaper version of its intended form, pulled over one shoulder and hanging loosely on one side, tight against her modest pauldrons on the other.
"With the memory of Light, that should do you and your little service revolver fine. Man, what a small gun for a handcannon, though. When was it built, 1885?"
"Hey, leave me alone, all right? It'll do for now."
"Yeah, just couldn't help taking the piss. Well, time to head off", Chandragupta declared, raising the anchor and speeding them off towards the Necropolis. They sailed in silence, due in part to a sense of solemnity and dread, and in equal measure to a failure to sleep well, and for those that did sleep well, hangovers.
"Oh."
"Wh--oh." Freya followed the Harappan wizard's gaze up the side of the ship.
"How're we already...?" Aktaf trailed off.
Chandragupta glanced back at shore.
"We're ensnared. No chance of leaving til we deal with this."
"How can you tell?"
"Can't see Mykonos anymore."
"Ahhhh.... huhhhh.... swell."
"All right, look for the anchor. We'll climb the chain."
"Shouldn't it just be at the prow?" Eldris pointed out.
"Why yes! And let's hope it is", Chandragupta confirmed, steering the boat to the front of the ship. A great chain extended from the Aegean to the deck of the Necropolis; ordinarily it would be an awkward climb, but the chain was so battered and rotten as to provide handholds in the shape of its decay. One by one the Guardians boarded the chain and set off upwards into the abyss.
"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here", Freya said as she watched her comrades climb the chain.
"What's that, love? Been reading Dante?"
"What?"
"Abandon all hope? The line from the Inferno?"
"Is that where that comes from?"
"Oui. And don't be so gloomy, we've only just begun", Alois said as he hopped on the chain.
"We've only just begun and we're already trapped on the open sea with an eldritch ship full of vampires that bypass Guardian anti-thanatics!"
"Cheery smiles! Think of all the wondrous discoveries to be made! We will surely learn a lot!"
Freya rolled her eyes, directly into Illyria's stare. The Titan was holding back laughter as she began to climb the chain.
"Come on though, Freya. What, getting cold feet now that it's too late to turn back?"
"No, I... ah, fuck it, come on, let's just climb."
One by one the fireteam touched down on the deck of the Necropolis.
"All right. We want to reach the captains' apartments, which is meant to be analagous to the royal crypt when the Necropolis is in this form. And it looks like we can enter the main hub of the ship through a side door somewhere along the verandah. Assuming I know what I'm talking about, we can get there by melting down this gate..."
Chandragupta strode over to the thin metal gate, which had been sloppily painted over so much it was more paint now than whatever it started life as. He heated it until it melted, and waved for the party to follow him along the verandah. A gentle wind pushed at his robes as he strode confidently to a door nearer the center of the ship. Passing through, they emerged in the main lobby, empty and dimly-lit, unstaffed bars on two of the four visible floors. Above the highest level was a massive, five-story open pit host to four elevators.
"We wanna get up there. I don't expect it to be as easy as boarding an elevator. Since we're inevitably going to get split up anyway, I think we should take our chance to make it happen on our terms, and with a goal. Aktaf, Liesel, Alois and Illyria, take the casino route; it leads to the shops, and we need something to replace the finery. Rowain, Ariadne, Freya--you head down towards the theatre. Theatres on these ships often have some kind of... almost maze systems behind and adjacent to them. Plus, backstage probably holds something worth checking out."
"What do you mean?" Rowain asked.
"Could be weapons, could be treasure to replace the finery."
"I thought we were replacing the finery", Liesel commented.
"There was a lot of finery. Boris, Mila, take Kessel and investigate the suites. They can be a dangerous place to get lost, but can also often hold passages and backdoors that lead to restricted and hard-to-access areas of the upper decks. Could provide a direct route to the burial chamber."
"Should Kessel really be a part of something involving winding tunnels that actively want to confuse and trap people? Isn't that a little too close to the 103-B incident for a guy who seems to be suffering PTSD from it?" Aktaf pointed out.
"From what I've read of that incident... uhhh maybe. Kessel, you can switch with Aktaf if you'd prefer."
"I'll be OK."
"Uhh well, whatever suits you, friend. Windsor, Eldris, you're coming with me to scout for safe rooms. Which brings me to my next point. I assume, between the 13 of us, someone has transmat beacons?"
A smattering of murmured agreements commenced.
"Great. We're gonna plant those in the safe rooms. Windsor and I can cast a single-use spell that functions largely the same way, if necessary, but you'd have to be with us to travel back, so the transmat is entirely more effective in every single way. Now, we may be traversing, ostensibly, a cruise ship, and it's entirely likely it'll keep this base form for the duration of our stay, but not only can we not guarantee it won't take another shape, we also have to account for getting tossed into different pocket dimensions while we're here. Good news is they will in fact be localized within the bounds of the Necropolis. Any questions?"
"We gonna have a rendevouz point?" Liesel asked.
"That's what me, Windy and El are looking for. Obviously plant a beacon yourselves if any of you find a safe room first, but mainly concentrate on finding access to restricted zones and offering replacements."
"If we're taking treasure replacements from inside the Necropolis, isn't that like... gifting them their own shit?" Mila pointed out.
"Many kings are buried here."
"So we should wake up more of them?"
"...well, there's no guarantee that would happen, but it is a risk..."
"What about... would any of the, ah, residents, perhaps be inclined to work against Basileos Megán and Archaeos Therón?" Rowain inquired.
"Not sure. I don't know that I'd risk it. I can ask Desdinova from a safe room. Let's get started, and we'll adapt accordingly."
The party split into their respective teams. The casino team strolled into their area of operations and soon disappeared into the sprawl of untended gambling stations, glitzy, gaudy lights running on around half, the rest derelict and dark. The corridors team, striking a tight formation, soon vanished around the bend. The safe room and theatre teams walked side-by-side before reaching the fork between the theatre halls and a stairwell.
"Keep alert for danger. There's no telling when they'll start to mess with us, but we're on the undead's home base here. Let everyone know if you notice anything. I know it's obvious, but still."
"You're talking to a Praxic Imperator, boss", Ariadne said.
"I've no doubt for your combat ability and convictions. You've never been to Four Winds before, though."
"I've been in Vex constructs on Nessus that had this same flavour of chaos architecture."
"Vex are more predictable than this by far."
"Well... then...."
"Keep your Light safe, Guardians", Chandragupta said before peeling off up the stairs. With a nod of cameraderie to the theatre group, Eldris and Windsor followed suit.
"Aktaf. Look at this."
The Warlock followed Illyria's voice to a strange table nearby yet another unmanned bar. It seemed to be built directly into the floor; whatever the smooth material it was made from was, it blended seemlessly with the black ceramic tiles of the casino. A control panel of some sort was on the front, with no clear indication of how to use it.
"Ca1000, can you tell me anything about this?"
"Lemme see", the ghost said, scanning the item. "All I'm getting is, 'map'. Nothing further."
"Oh... well, at least we... might? know what it is..."
"Artemisia, call Amri", Illyria bade her ghost. Chandragupta answered shortly.
"Hello?"
"We found a strange device in the casino. Aktaf's ghost scanned it. It's a map, but we don't know how to activate it."
"Oh, hm... that's one to file away for later, I guess. Have you tried to do anything with it yet?"
"No."
"Uhh, try... this would be a lot easier if I could see it. Maybe. All right, well, just file that away for later and carry on for now. Keep an eye out for safe rooms, keep an eye out for danger. Chandragupta out."
"You see anything different yet?" Boris asked Mila.
"No, floor's the same as the last one."
"How long have we been just walking down massive corridors of hotel rooms?"
"We've covered two floors in somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes, and there are around nine or ten floors if I'm not mistaken. Seems they've stuck us with easy, monotonous grunt duty on this one."
"So it does. How're you, Kessel?"
"I'm all right."
"Smooth sailing. Always nice in this fucked-up place. I'm getting some real House of the Past vibes here. Like a fuckin' demon spirit is gonna come out any second and start fucking things up."
"Don't give 'em that power, Boris. Easy thoughts for our easy mission. What... what's that?"
Boris followed his girlfriend's gaze down the corridor which extended nearly the entire length of the ship. A faint twinkle of movement shimmered in the distance. The two of them both looked down the barrels of their sniper rifles.
The figure that approached them wore the skull of an auroch upon its head, and draped itself otherwise in layered black robes adorned with strange charms. It strode with a sort of relaxed determination down the hall at them.
"Oh, my, do I not want to find out. Call Chandy."
"You heard him, Dex. Establish a ghostlink with Amri."
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"You don't feel that in the air?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Something's... wrong. Like something's polluted my Light."
"Scooby, you affected by this?" Boris asked his ghost.
"Yeah... I feel really weak and drowsy. A little out of it. Like I'm... poisoned or something."
"Shit. Kessel, how's Iggy?"
Silence. Boris glanced around.
"Fucking dammit."
