[Sci-fi, Post Digital, Noir] The Opulent

The rattle of a chain, lock, bolt. Funny, even when half the world got upgraded to digital-media-matter, they didn't do nothing to improve security. "Congrats! Your wooden door has been upgraded to a state-of-the-art digital wooden door! With a digital mechanical lock!" Always the pessimist they said.
Second to last sip of Rosmary's Import Rumtm, leaves a soothing warmth in the mind, before the lock is broken down- and the rest of the door with it. The empty bottle lays on the cramped coffee table, right next to a loaded G-Ranger 901 digital pistol.
Hinges and boards splinter, the brightness of the B-reel apartment hall floodlight that once only seeped in through the gaps now swamped the entrance.
Four silhouettes stand in the gateway between here, and hurt.
"So this is it..." Another sip of Rum. "Just another job to ya'll..."
"Yeah."
They enter... some buff, some sleek, all lethal.
He reaches for the gun, not before a single ferrous-fluid shuriken slices past his fingertips and sends the gun toppling out of reach, before melting to a metallic liquid once more.
"Guys you gotta-"
Punch. Hard and fast in the jaw. Left, right, left, kick, toss, toppling the chair on its back. Kick, kick, shove, slam... And now comes the hurt.
"You stole from us..."
"...You tricked us..."
"We trusted you... J."
Coughing up blood and bruises, one final push sends the man through the glass of his balcony door, shattering and rolling onto the incomplete set.
"Ya... ya you did trust me... And I trusted you, once, too." He coughs again, hard to breath through the pain. "And look what that got me." In the distance, the luminescence of the city skyline calls to the eyes like diamonds... And one the brightest of them all.
"Where's our ticket J." One of the four demand, shoving him back, prone, with a strong boot. A single gun raised pointing with deadly intent. "Where's our ticket to the Opulent."
He looks back up with defeated eyes. "It's scattered... Hah... To the wind I say... Four pieces, broken even... With a file-mass too big for one person to carry... You'll need all four of you's to carry this one out."
"And, yeah, to answer your previous question: I triggered that alarm during the Welston-Bells Bank heist. I was the one who sent that Alert-All to everyone, containing the news of impending doom over Distrikt-12A... And the ticket's encryption code. I was the screaming goose, the shit in the fan, the snitch."
Light shines over the scene from afar, those golden beacons of a new life wave like flagging down a ship lost at sea. He let's out a soft chuckle. "The... Opulent. The only safe zone. The last ticket to paradise, safety, a clean slate before every undesirable or criminal get deleted in the upcoming purge-OS update..." He lets out a loud sigh, like a death sigh yet spoken among one of those still living.
"Are you trying to confess your sins to me? Knowing it will all be washed a way in six days?" One of the four ask.
"I'm confessing to you because I believe in second chances."
"Hmmph... I don't."
Out of the light steps... You, the player, gun pointed down at J, your ex heist-team member.
Bang.
Hello! It's been a while since I've done one of these, so I figured I'd start it off with a bang.
If you didn't what to read that all, here's what you need to know: You are leader of a heist-team living in a crime riddled digital-city of the future. During a heist one of your (now former) team members looked at the loot a little too early and took a nose dive, having found a sealed document containing news that your locked and quarantined district is undergoing some highly illegal deleting of the poor, unsightly, or unruly, when the next auto-update rolls around. Why the quarantine? Bugs. Big bugs, computer-program bugs the size of a man; which then jumps on that man, eats him, and spits him out as more greyish digital matter. Convenient.
The silver lining to all this mess: The Opulent. The richest, the oldest, the most prestigious hotel and casino within a hundred hexs2 . Only the biggest and the best can get in and it's security has never been defeated. Be there with a ticket and you get immunity as the whole area code gets wiped shiny and new.
And, to put the rain on your parade, J ran off with it, leaving you and your three other team members in the dust of a bank robbery gone sour... But not before tearing up the ticket, scattering the pieces all across the district for any and all to fight to the death over, and telling everyone from here to the moon about the impending disaster in six-days and what those tickets are worth.
Now that he's out of the way, time to get busy. Hell just got a whole lot hotter.
Your team: All good snitch-free heist teams have four members:
  • a Lead, you, someone to give orders, know his or her stuff and execute orders.
  • a Hacker, with an illegal Class 2 log-in key and a head full of know how, they can create holes in the system, both online and in digital-matter, for your team to exploit.
  • an Infiltrator, who knows how to take care of business with ease, grace, and silenced weapons.
  • and a Brute, for when all else fails and you just need to hit them hard.
I as the game master will RP as your team, they are tools at your disposal but for matter of convenience you will only play and act as one character, yourself. In combat they will follow your orders completely like any Team-RPG. Each gets 1 gun, 1 melee weapon, and one trinket of their choice- from the extravagant ferrous-fluid shuriken to bionic body parts to a rope, you have freedom to make up your own: keep it reasonable, get creative.
Assemble your NPC's, find the ticket pieces and get to the Opulent within six days at any cost.
The gunshot rings out, as Jay's limb body tumbles to the alley below... It's well known that all pistols have a destructive-resonance suppressor built into the body; with all the nooks and crannies of the big city, and cheap cost microbots floating about everywhere the feds can pinpoint a gunshot's location with an accuracy of 15 feet- you bet they're already on their way... If you imagine hard enough you can already hear the sirens.
Think fast.
