Hey gang! I'm starting a far future sci fi campaign pretty soon and I'd like to add some flavor and RP to FTL travel instead of "seven days pass, you arrive in the system" when there's nothing prepared for the transit. I'm pulling inspiration from the living arrangements of Star Trek, where the personal lives of the characters had a presence in the show during less dangerous times.
Assume FTL transit time is between one and fourteen days, so a handful of people sharing a flat together for that long without going outside (not relatable at all). They all have their own rooms and private bathrooms.

22. The ship is regularly receiving encrypted messages but it's not clear who is reciving them or what they're about. All anyone knows is that the messages are digitally signed by a competitor.
    
23. Their pet doesn't really like them and regularly slepes in anyone's quarters it can get into other than its owner's. It is relentless in the early morning when it needs to be let out to pee.
    
24. There's a damn space possum somewhere on the ship. It's mostly harmless but rarely detectable except when it chews around an important wire and a system goes down. Sometimes it can be heard scrambling around behind the walls.
    
25. All of the furniture in one of the cabins is smashed beyond usability, including the bed. It's not clear if a former or current crewmate is responsible, or if it was damaged in a fit of rage, investigation or raucous party.
    
26. The ship likes to play music late at night when it thinks everyone is asleep. The ship's idea of a banging tune sounds more or less like alien ghost whales quietly weeping. Anyone who happens to be up late may begin to believe the ship is haunted.
    
27. One of the maintenance droids watches people sleep. This cannot be explained by its programming, or its rudimentary language. What is it thinking?
    
28. One of the crew is taking drugs to stay awake for days at a time. It's affecting their job performance but wow do they get a lot of cleaning done!

31. one of the crewman is a compulsive gambler and is constantly betting on everything (or trying to).
    
32. One of the crewman notices another crewman has disappeared but no one remembers them and there is no log of them on the ship.

86. Everyone knows it is bad luck to bring bananas on board ship. The last person that did so got thrown out the airlock!

88. A crewmember gets drunk and challenges another crewmate with compound eyes to a staring competition. Both wind up in medbay.
    
89. It turns out more than half of the crew secretly worship an evil space entity that is slowly warping thier brains with cannibalism, fear, and paranoia. They all keep it secret for fear of being discovered. Then one evil worshiper finds another making a trap in the corridor at the end of shift, and now you're stuck being a contestent in "The Most Dangerous Game" being hunted by the rest of the crew, and possibly the only one not being mind controlled by evil.

I live in South of France and I want to share my experience.
First off, I'm fine. I actually want to help by sharing. Lockdowns are probably easier for me than other people, because I'm used to live alone and not going out much. Sometimes people tell this to me in almost an accusative tone, like it's unfair. It is unfair, but it's not my fault. For the first time in my life, I'm glad I'm an introvert.
Yet I'm a human being and I miss my friends. I used to go out maybe once a month, to play board games and have fun. I have two very important friends that I almost never see (one of them became my GF), and 5-6 friends that I like to play with but without this deep bonding unfortunately.
They suggested me some hangouts between lockdowns. I refused, even though I miss them. A few months later, I learned that she and her BF were positive. It makes me sound responsible. But you have to understand I'm not responsible because they became positive ; I'm responsible because I didn't take any chances, no matter what comes next. I think it's an important concept. If you take risks and don't get Covid, it doesn't mean you were right. It just mean you were lucky, but it's doesn't justify anything. If you stay safe and get unlucky, at least you'll have no regrets. You did your best.
So I hadn't much trouble locking myself down, even between lockdowns. I still went out doing some bicycle (when I had the right to), and I'm glad to say this : you can do bicycle with a mask. It's possible. It's not pleasant, but it's not a torture, and still better than staying inside (if you have the right to do it, of course). Yet I saw like 10% of people wearing a mask doing sports. I actually counted, sitting on a bench. You just have to take it easy. If you go for a mad sprint, either running of cycling, you will have trouble breathing with mask. So just do it in a chill pace, and you'll be able to keep your mask and be safer. Also, the more intense the effort, and the more you'll breathe in and out and increase the risk.
My family is crazy. We are currently in second lockdown and she takes walks without masks with my uncle and aunt, who took the car to come at our place. They don't even have the right to take a walk not alone. I told her everything I wanted to say, which you can imagine. She replied "Well, this is our place, and we'll do what we want. I'm taking the right". This is the 4th time they broke lockdown, and we still have 15 days to go. That was the initial motivation for this post.
Now, how do I keep myself busy ? Pretty much exactly like usual with my unemployment. I hate being useless, but I have to recognize I unwillingly trained for this. I love to learn things. The best advice for me is that when I'm focused on something, I cannot think about Covid. It's ok to check the news because we want to know what's going on, but there is not much breaking news on a daily basis. You'll probably hear the important stuff from your friends and family anyways. Maybe 5mn a day if you really want to not miss any mandatory stuff on your local policy, but the rest of the day, your job is to think about something else and relax. Most of us can't do anything about what's going on except staying safe, so you might as well take care of yourself and your sanity.
So, what I do is talk to my friends on a daily basis. We have discord and even if we don't play or anything, and we don't see each other IRL, it's very important to me to have this basic social interaction and hear their voices. As long as I'll have them, I know I'll never go crazy.
About learning stuff : I learned Riichi Mahjong. This definitely kept me busy. More than busy, it melted my brain because this game has 42 winning hands (Poker but alien version basically) and the scoring system is insane. Good thing is, when you play online you don't have to worry about it. Here is the platform https://mahjongsoul.game.yo-star.com/. I played like 100 games and I'm still discovering the game. I recommend chess too. Learning deep strategy games can use a lot of your time, and that's perfect. Rubik's cube is also a great pick.
I've read A popular history of United States. I've been hooked every single of the 800 pages. Netflix helps a lot too. Don't be too picky. You can't affort it right now. It's better to be busy than becoming a bored cinema critique. Check out Nanowrimo, a writing community. It's a November event, but you can find spreadsheets to challenge yourself whenever you want. Scribook.com is amazing too. I also learned juggling. It's so much more physical than I thought. 30mn juggling is enough to spend myself. http://libraryofjuggling.com/ is a great reference.
There are autumn sales on Steam right now. I hate buying games, (I hate buying anything) but what we can't afford is stare at a wall and get depressed.
But really, pick any subject that you like and dive into it. Books, history, science, whatever fills your brain with something else than Covid. What you learn will end up being useful somehow.
My big mistake during this second lockdown is not doing sports. During the first, I was running inside my flat. It's ridiculous but it's not stupid if this works. It's still running. You can do a lot of sports without any equipments. A one-minute plank is a lot of energy spent and all muscles involved. Pushups, squats, lunges, pretty much all yoga and stretching exercises. When I don't use my body at all, I feel nervous and frustrated. Now I got headaches and my digestion is bad. No wonder.
TLDR : Talk to your friends on phone/Discord even you can't meet them IRL, it's better than nothing. Do sports inside if you can't go outside, your body will thank you (and it improves your immune system, which is a big deal right now, but it doesn't mean you can take more risks of course). And learn something and focus as much as you can to think about something else than Covid. Games, movies, books are great too, whatever keeps your mind busy.

The next day was one that was taxing, to say the least. I knew that nobody would believe me or my theory. It was already confusing enough as it was, and I knew that if I presented a hypothesis such as this to Mr. Walters, he’d surely think I was crazy and wouldn’t believe me. No, I needed proof. The only problem was that I didn’t know how to go about that. I was going to have to find it on my own. The problem with that was, I didn’t know where to start. I decided to head to Java Plaza, the nearby coffee shop on 3rd Street, a few blocks from my residence. I figured it would be a nice, quiet place to relax, gather my thoughts, and of course, get my morning fix. Plus, coffee serves as a good incentive as well. I grabbed my trench coat and hat, got in my car, and was off to the café. As I arrived, the thought of what I’d witnessed the night before crossed my mind. I knew what I had seen. I was sure of it. Every time I dwelled on the matter, I couldn’t help but feel that there was more to it than there was initially let on. Most people would probably just chalk it up to a hallucination or something of the sort and move on. However, I couldn’t. My intuition had its claws dug deep in me. I couldn’t let this go.
I stared briefly at the neon sign of the Java Plaza before shaking away my thoughts and heading inside to place my order. It wasn’t long before my name was called, and I received my fresh cup of coffee. I sat back in a sofa chair, sipping my morning fuel as I tried to come up with an angle of proof. There had to be something, but what? Where, however… that was the real question. I tried the paper and other forms of ads but to no avail. Of course, I suppose I should have expected as much. There really wasn’t anything other than common advertisement garble along with the same old boring, bland sales pitches. I let out a deep breath as I gazed at the environment around me, tapping my fingers on the arm of the chair. It was quiet. Peaceful. A lot of people reading their books, newspapers, and whatnot. I leaned back in my chair, gazing up at the ceiling as I pondered. Something… there had to be something. Suddenly, it hit me. The library! That would be the perfect place for old, archived information and research alike. They would have everything I needed. Just like that, I quickly finished my coffee and was on my way to the library.
I arrived with the hope of finding… something. Answers? I wasn’t entirely sure. Just something to help point me in the right direction. I just hoped that I wasn’t on a wild goose chase. I mean, as crazy as the whole thing seemed, and as much trouble as I was going through, it seemed like it was probably more trouble than it was worth. However, the calling was too great. Too strong. That, and I also knew aside from this being a good opportunity, if it actually turned out to be something at all, those eyes would otherwise haunt me in my dreams. No, I needed to be sure. If there was something to this, I needed to find out what. I walked in and immediately went to work. I couldn’t exactly say how much time I had spent at the library trying to find something of use, but I wasn’t turning up with much. Nothing critical, anyway. I decided to take a break and stretch my legs for a bit. I paced around for a while before finally gathering the will to return back to my research. On my way back to my desk, however, I stopped to view a missing persons bulletin board that I noticed on one of the walls. It was sad, really. All of them were children or young teens; I could only imagine how the parents must have felt when discovering that their little girl or boy had gone missing. Tragic. To one day be with their kid, not realizing that the words they exchanged and the time they spent with them would be their last because they would be gone the next day. While looking, I noticed that one of the victims stuck out to me. At first, I couldn’t place why, but then it hit me. Anna Goodman. She was in the papers a couple of months back. I remembered reading the article. Apparently, she and her family went camping one day, and she just disappeared without a trace. Nobody knows what happened, and the parents were devastated. It was assumed that she must have gotten lost before being found and taken by a stranger. The whole thing was sad, to say the least. The parents never got any closure, and I can only imagine what kind of strain that may have put on their marriage. I grimaced at the thought as I shook away my reflection.
I made my way back to my desk to hopefully see if I couldn’t find anything useful in my ongoing search. There wasn’t much to be found from what I had, so it was back to the shelves. I pushed back the wooden chair as I got up to browse the depths of the library a bit deeper. I shifted through the aisles of shelves as I scanned for anything that might hold some answers. It must have been hours of going back and forth, trying to find something that would stabilize my assumptions. I looked all over; however, there didn’t seem to be anything substantial. I figured I’d call it a day, seeing as it was beginning to grow late. I made my way back to my desk to gather my things and put away the stack of accumulated books when researching this ridiculous hoax. While gathering up the library books, I reflected on how foolish I was to have actually entertained such a ludicrous thesis.
What was I thinking? I’m such an idiot for actually convincing myself of such a fantasy. To have actually thought there was some kind of… conspiracy because of something that I thought I saw was delusional and stupid. I should’ve known better and not have been so naïve, I thought, while putting all of the books back in their proper homes. I scoffed to myself, still processing my foolishness. Maybe Mr. Walters was right; perhaps I was losing my touch. Maybe I did need this time off. Pfft… Maybe I just wasn’t cut out for this anymore, I thought, as I was putting up the last book.
So stupid… I— Suddenly, the book slipped from my grasp. I huffed in annoyance, squatting to retrieve the dropped book. However, as I picked it up, I noticed a faint drag on the floor. There were light scratches curved across the floor next to the bookshelf I was near. I examined the scratches further, running my fingers across the indent. What the…? I thought, standing up and taking a closer look at the shelf as I realized that this specific shelf was slightly sagging. I also noticed an almost missable crease in the wall. What the heck? I thought to myself, leaning against it, lightly knocking as I listened for a hollow spot. This was odd, but I knew what this was.
Sure enough, I was right. I heard a slight echo, confirming my suspicion. This was a hidden doorway; my curiosity was now piqued. What was behind there? I pressed my weight against the shelf in an effort to move it but no luck. I pushed and pulled, but it wouldn’t budge. I searched around for something, anything, but nothing. I immediately started taking books off the shelves in hopes of finding a secret button, or-or a switch or something that would unlock this secret door. Eventually, I managed to find a brass lock hidden in the back of the second shelf. “Damn,” I said under my breath. There had to be a key somewhere, but where? Ah crap, I thought, unsure of what to do. I wondered where exactly I should go from here. Then a thought occurred to me. The front desk might have them, and really, it might be the only chance I have. The “how” on getting them was the real question, however. Without any further thought, I cleaned up my mess and made my way to the front desk, trying to think up a plan. The elderly lady standing there looked somewhat aloof, like she was either overtaxed or didn’t have time for shenanigans. I decided to go for the latter and approached her with my best poker face.
“Ahem. Excuse me, ma’am?” I asked as politely as I could, with a touch of concern in my voice.
She replied back in a somewhat exasperated, crusty tone, “Yes? How can I help you?”
Geez, this lady was already worse than my mother-in-law, I thought to myself as I answered back.
“Uh… yeah, sorry to disturb you, but I think I saw some kids smoking in the back, over there on the west wing,” I replied, maintaining my coy yet believable composure.
The elderly lady immediately looked up from her book and adjusted her glasses as she started walking to the location I had pointed out. “Oh, are there now? Not on my watch! No hooligans are going to cause trouble in my library if I have anything to say about it!” she asserted, adjusting her hair bun as she marched towards the west wing.
Wow, that was easier than I expected, I thought, as I waited for her to be out of sight. Once she was, I immediately went searching for a set of keys lying around. Hopefully, I could find a spare set or something lying around somewhere, I thought, shuffling through papers and magazines and such. I knew I had to be quick, so I couldn’t dally. Eventually, after a few intense seconds of what felt like an hour, I found a set of keys sitting in one of the cubbyholes. Without hesitation, I swiped them and went back to the secret door. After finally finding the right key, I finally managed to unlock it. I then hurried up and placed the keys back before the librarian returned with what I could only imagine was an earful.
I returned to the hidden door where I pulled on the shelf, and this time, I successfully opened the passageway. I was right. There really was a secret corridor behind here, I thought, as I was met with a dark stairway. I simply stared in awe for a moment, amazed at my discovery, before slipping inside. I made sure to close the bookshelf back for good measure, leaving a slight crack, just in case. I carefully made my way down the steps as I was surrounded by darkness. Eventually, I reached what I assumed to be the bottom as I waved my hand around, searching for a light switch. Finding one, I flipped it and proceeded to take a look around. There must have been hundreds of archives here.
Some shelves went on for what seemed like miles. I mean, the place looked like a warehouse for documents. I don’t know how long I spent searching around, but it had to have been hours. There was just so much. For the most part, however, everything I found was redacted documents. As impressive as all this was, there wasn’t much that I could use to my advantage. Not really anyway. I mean, sure, I could take something, but without all the “in-between details,” it likely wasn’t going to be of much use to me. No, I needed something substantial.
At this point, I had pretty much forgotten about my theory. However, that was until I came across something that really captured my attention. It was a large, dark, indigo-colored book with textured swirls landscaping its covers and spine. This was strange. This wasn’t like any of the other documents I had filed through. This was its own thing. I thoroughly examined the book; however, I couldn’t find a title located anywhere, nor did I see a name for an author or anything anywhere— outside or in. It was as if the book was a complete mystery with no origin whatsoever. Strange… I thought to myself. However, my curiosity was piqued, and I wanted to know what this strange artifact was that I had stumbled across. I lightly brushed the edges, feeling a rigid and grainy texture to it. This wasn’t like any book I had ever seen. Eager to view the contents of the sparkled, indigo mystery, I cracked open the cover where I was immediately greeted by years of dust that clouded me. I waved away the dust whilst squinting my eyes and coughing due to the thick layer of dust choking me. This thing is old. It must have at least a vicennium or so on it, I thought, as I wiped a heavy coat of dust away from the pages.
Since there wasn’t a table of contents or anything about an author, I wasn’t sure what to expect; however, I wasn’t sure I expected there to be any at this point. I skimmed through and noticed some strange things. There were old tales and folklore inside. As I examined further, something piqued my interest. There was one specific tale about an old legend from long ago. It talked about some sort of unworldly spirit or wraith or something. A corporeal being that stalked in the night. Apparently, there had been multiple reports, from all over the world, about a man or monster— a demon that would steal children all across the globe. Basically, what would happen is children would suddenly turn up missing, never to be seen again. There had also been reports and alleged recordings of the figure being spotted around numerous locations— the United States, the U.K., Australia, South America, Europe, and many more. As a journalist, these reports seemed farfetched and just downright outrageous. I mean, who would really believe that there was a demon taking their children? Then again, I suppose it wasn’t any different from people believing in something such as Bigfoot, or the Loch Ness Monster, or aliens. That, and I suppose considering my own personal hunches from the past and my current suspicion about Hidden Valley, who was I to judge?
As I searched more, I discovered that the public had given him… or it, a name. They referred to him as “The Twilight Man.” It didn’t really say why, so I could only assume that it must have been because he stalked at night and dusk. The “Twilight Hour,” as some might call it; however, that was just my best guess. I didn’t actually know. There could have been countless theories there. I also noticed that the book only seemed to contain specific yet vague details. It was almost as if it only contained information that it wanted you to know.
Search as I did, I couldn’t seem to find out anything about the Twilight Man’s origins. He was a mystery. There were, however, alleged sightings of him at a few locations—parks, schools, camping grounds, fishing holes, neighborhoods, even a farm or two. Places where you might find a kid, that’s where he was spotted. As I continued analyzing, I unraveled more. There appeared to be some articles with snapshots of him. They were a little obscure, but when I focused my vision, my eyes grew wide as I noticed that there was definitely a figure lurking in the background. Now initially, I premised that it was probably just a coincidence or perhaps propaganda. However, that idea was soon deflated when I took a closer look.
It was still hard to see, but I could definitely tell that the figure was lanky and boney. He was very dark, very shadowy. He blended in well, almost like a camouflage; perhaps that’s what made it difficult to spot him. You could tell there were a pair of gleaming eyes too. Those were unmistakable. That’s probably what gave him away so easily, more or less. The thing was, the figure in the photograph didn’t look normal. Though he, or it, looked humanoid, it still wasn’t normal. No human could look like that, contort their body like that. It just wasn’t possible. A close enough look, and I was convinced that whatever this was, wasn’t human. Which, I guess, according to the tales, it wasn’t.
The only reason why any of this was relevant to me was because there was a specific section in the book that had documents taped to the pages; as I looked, I noticed something told about a hidden valley. One of them specifically said: “There’s a place called Hidden Valley. Where kids not only eat their vegetables, they can’t get enough.” That caught my interest. That was part of the commercial. I was almost certain of it. The section continued on before breaking off into blacked-out text “Be warned, however——.” Considering that it was marked out, I couldn’t make out the rest of what it said, other than the last couple of words that weren’t marked out. They read: “—— where——————, and c————— ————————–————— ———p—r —————— ——sing, n—er— ——–gain. The articles were referring to Hidden Valley, speaking about the demonic, contorted, lanky figure. As I read further, I discovered something haunting. Apparently, that was like a hotspot for this so-called Twilight Man. Why, it didn’t say, only that it supposedly was. People came to assume this, though, because there were rumors about how there seemed to be more incidents of children turning up missing around that area. They thought it to be because of The Twilight Man. Whether or not that was true, nobody knew. There wasn’t any concrete evidence supporting it other than the fact that there was, indeed, an increase of missing children’s cases around that specific area. However, who would really believe such drawn-out hogwash? That there was actually a creature or being or entity lurking…stalking. In any case, it didn’t stop townsfolk from dispersing or the rumors from spreading. At least, that’s what was said. People became scared of this legendary creature or man or figure or whatever this thing was that was supposedly creeping around. Realistically, I wasn’t sure what to make of this. Should I even believe this? I thought to myself. I mean, the idea of it all just seemed so… surreal. Just then, while I was flipping through the pages, I discovered a mysterious set of numbers. Two rows, to be exact. The first was 464610, with two x’s following right after the zero. The other ones were 082001 with again, two more x’s, following after the last number. I didn’t know what they were or how exactly they correlated to my findings at all but figured I would make a mental note, just in case. The rest of the notes and documents were just more lore on the apparent being known as The Twilight Man and alleged sightings and stories related to him. I figured that I had everything I needed and that I should wrap it up down here before someone found me. Unlikely, however, not a risk I was willing to take, especially with that crusty old bird overseeing the area.
I quickly placed everything back the way I found it, with the exception of the book. I secured that nice and neat inside my trench coat. I weaved my way out behind the shelves and made my way back to the entrance of the hidden corridor, shutting off the light on my way out. I peeked through the crack that was thankfully still there.
The coast was clear, and I slipped back through, carefully shutting the bookshelf-door back. I made myself inconspicuous as I grabbed my belongings and headed out of the library. I gently set my fedora back on my head, slightly smirking as I found my way to my car. I was too good, I thought to myself, patting myself on the back. My Journalist’s Instinct was right. There really was something going on with Hidden Valley. There had to be. This book proved it, I thought to myself. I mean, as crazy as it seemed with the whole “Twilight Man” thing, it was still suspicious; why else would there be a secret basement in the library, let alone a strange book accompanying its archives? Maybe the whole thing was just some sort of fairytale, a hoax to con people for one reason or another. I really didn’t know. Did I believe in a boogeyman stalking around in the dead of night? No, of course not. It was likely just something told to get publicity or something. However, that wouldn’t explain why Hidden Valley would be involved or even mentioned for that matter. They had to have had some sort of motive or something. There had to be a connection… and I intended to find out what it was.
I got in my car and made my way back home, where I speculated on the situation. Where to go from here? I wondered to myself, pacing back and forth in the TV room. Thoughts began railroading my mind. There had to be something. Where to go from here? What to do? I have to find out what exactly all this is. There’s more to this. I know it. There has to be someth— suddenly, it came to me. The headquarters. That had to be it. Where else would you find the answers that you’re looking for? Where do you go? The source. I was convinced that the HQ had to be the answer to my questions. “Looks like I’m going on a road trip,” I muttered softly to myself. It had been a long day, so after packing a bag full of necessary equipment for my predetermined road trip, I readied myself for bed.

My wife and I had to replace our Furnace, as our existing one was old and inefficient. With a and with a newborn in a Canadian climate, we couldn't risk a dead furnace in the middle of winter. Instead of waiting for it to die, we opted to get quotes and research ahead of time, so we're not stuck making a decision last minute.
By obtaining several quotes, doing a ton of research online, we wheedled our choices down to two similarly priced quotes:
Vendor 1: Decent equipment, but better warranty and service. Lower quote.
Vendor 2: Better equipment, but lesser warranty and service. Higher quote.
Long story short, we went with Vendor 2, but only after we had them match the warranty and service from Vendor 1... for $1300 bucks less than Vendor 1's original quote.
A few tips:

• Always research BEFORE you talk to a vendor!
• Don't be afraid to ask questions... The more questions, the better... But make sure you ask all vendors the same questions, where possible.
• COMPARE the responses from the vendors (this way you can determine if unnecessary services/equipment is being offered).
  • If dealing with a sales person vs. an installer, make sure that sales person is actually well versed with the products and services. Don't be afraid to ask about credentials, experience, etc.
• Don't be afraid to ask for extras -- I'm getting extra tubing installed and a few faulty valves replaced, just because I asked. It's minimal work for an installer who is doing other work, but can save you from having to bring in an extra tradesperson to fix your issue.
• Don't be afraid to put out a 'bottom line' offer. I was ready to go with Vendor 1's quote, but threw out a number significantly lower. Play a bit of poker here. Don't show your hand, but be ready to walk away or concede a bit... I didn't expect my offer to be accepted on the first try...
• Negotiate for extra service/warranty! I managed to have an extra year of warranty added on as well as 2 years of service thrown in for free.

Side note reddit should have a save feature that makes it so if you're working on a draft and the app crashes you don't lose all your hard work and have to re write everything. I'm ranking this from most to least important so guns and cosmetic stuff will be lower on the list
JOB IMPROVEMENTS AND NEW JOBS: The jobs could use a few things changed about them to improve them, since after awhile they can get a bit stale. I think that the jobs are the biggest down side to Red dead online since they can get pretty old and the lack of content is what makes this game mode so underwhelming so here's some of my ideas
Bounty hunter: Give us new bounties every month, the old ones are starting to get boring and even up the gold from .24 to .25 it's just, more even and doesn't seem like you're skimming off the top
Moonshiner: Give us an option to make the moonshine ourselves instead of having the French guy do it, waiting for the moonshine to cook is boring so why not give players the option to cook it themselves. Have a minigame where we have to get the temperature right, put in the right stuff and stir it right to make the shine and make it harder the more pricey and high quality the shine
Naturalist: Bump up the payment for legendary animal parts and if you piss of the nature bitch, Gus will give you a discount for making her mad. Also while this isn't fully tied to the role, make sleeping bullets knock out horses, dogs and people. I once killed a dog trying to knock it out and the same thing happened to a person. Sleeping bullets that can knock someone out temporarily with a headshot could a cool addition to the game
Trader: Not much seems to need changing besides maybe bumping up the payment you get from deliveries
Collector: Have auctions where an item is up for sale and you and other plays place bids on it and you don't know it's worth until you buy it
But you saw the second part of what I said and you likely thought it was dumb that I wouldn't want new jobs over reworking old ones and you're right! I wrote that part when I was pissy that all my shit got deleted and didn't care about ranking anything. But without further ado here are my ideas for new jobs!
THE RANCHER: Fulfill your dreams of being a cowboy and own your own ranch! You can become a rancher by going to one of the many cattle ranches throughout the map and buying stock in the farm
•Buy cows and raise them before sending them to the slaughter house for big bucks
•Defend the herd from wild animals like wolves and bears and cattle hustlers
•Raid other players farms and steal their cattle for yourself but beware, these men shoot first and ask questions later
•Milk cows and either use it to make thick creamy stews, flavor your coffee, use it to make moonshine or just drink it straight up
•Find rare and exotic horses and break them, then sell them to the highest bidder or keep them as your own personal trophy
•Buy new rancher gun themes and outfits
THE GAMBLER: Test your luck in games of chance as you explore the world of gambling! Near Saint Denis there is a paddle boat stationed at the docks, once you pay for entrance you unlock the gambling card to allow you entrance into the boat
•Play roulette, BlackJack and liars dice in serval new locations throughout the map
•Enter tournaments with other players to win large sums of cash and gold
•Learn to cheat at poker to get the upper hand by pressing the right buttons at the right time but if you fail it will be viable to every player that is looking at you that you cheated, which allows them to challenge you to a duel
•Duels are reliant on your reaction time, first person to shoot is the first person to kill and they win, taking other persons money and leaving the poker game
•In the dark and sleazy parts of the west play Russian roulette with up to six different players. One gun, one bullet, six people. The gun will be passed from person to person until one person remains who will be crowned the winner and shall take all the money
•Place bets on horses races or rig them for your own gain but be careful, if you're caught you will be sent to a duel
•Buy new gambler gun themes and outfits
THE GUNSLINGER: While making money legally can be nice, sometimes you just wanna rob a few unlucky bastards Located in ambarino you can find a gang who's down on their luck and could use a new member to get them back on their feet, your first act as a member buying a new hideout
•Play a set of gang story missions as you track down the traitor who sold out the gang to the Pinkertons and exact your revenge
•Rob banks in a fashion similar to a bounty board with only minor scripting such as police uniforms you can steal to pretend to be police officers and you can either go in quietly or guns blazing. Each mission will reward the player with both gold and money for each time they complete it
•Betray your fellow members at the end of robberies to increased the gold and money you earn, if you want to risk losing some of your gold and money if they kill you
•Rob heavily armored trains for high rewards of money and gold
•Rob special carriages for high cash rewards
•Steal wagons full of expensive items and sell it to the highest bidder
•Rob store owners but if you do they won't serve you for a whole day and if you kill them it'll take three days for them to respawn for you
•Rob high profile gambling matches on gambling boats
•Buy new gunslinger gun themes and outfits
PLACES OF RESIDENCE: This may just be a personal thing but I kinda want a house in Red Dead online instead of just sleeping in the middle of the woods so here are my ideas for homes
Underground houses -Can be placed anywhere in the map -The aboveground part looks like the dirt house you can find -There is a stove with a pot of stew that you can use to make stews -You can change the theme and the look of the house -You can grow mint, oregano and thyme in small pots
Paddle boat -Can be placed anywhere in the main water areas -You can get free cigars and alcohol on the boat -You can place gambling tables on the boat
NEW GAMES/SERIES: I don't usually play these but since a few people do I thought I'd spitball some ideas
Battleships: Fight against other teams in warships, last team standing wins
•The boats are manned by 4 players, one driver who controls the boat, another who repairs it by using a hammer, one guy who controls a muzzle loading cannon that does massive damage but is slow to reload and someone who controls a Gatling gun that does low damage and fires fast
Civil war battles: Fight in battles between the union and the confederacy
•Players defend locations from other plays, the confederacy protects the Manor, Saint denis and Rhodes while the union protects van horn, Blackwater, strawberry, and valentine
•Player that are attacking must capture the location and hold it until the reinforcements arrive -You only have one life and if the defenders kill all the reinforcements and the attackers they win
•Confederates are armed with Springfield rifles and shotguns with their sidearm being a lemat revolver while the union has Litchfield repeaters and Springfield rifles with a navy being their sidearm
NEW FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION: I know that from the last time I did one of these nearly no one wanted a car so don't worry I won't ask for a car and the boats weren't my idea they were someone else's but I forgot who asked for them
•You can buy every kind of carriage that you can find people riding in the game
•When you drive any owned wagon such as the hunting wagon into a stable you can customize it, making it look more tidy, putting a crips trading company logo on the sides or just chancing the kind of wood that its made of
•upgrades for wagons such a the bounty and hunting wagon that adds a weapon box under the seats that allows you to change weapons while on the wagon and iron wheels that increases the speed and handling of the wagon
•Canoe -Small one man boat -Can hold one large fish in storage
•Rowboat -Medium sized two man boat -Has a crate of beer in it that can be drunk -Can hold three large fish
•Steamboat -Large sized boat four man boat -Has a crate of beer and a small stove where you can make stew and craft -Can hold six large fish -Can have a revolver cannon equipped on it
NEW GUNS AND WEAPONS: While the guns in the game is pretty well balanced and useful, new guns are a nice addition to the game
•Colt Walker, In game name, Walker Revolver: First produced in 1847, this was one of if not the most powerful percussion revolver ever made. Firing six .44 caliber round balls and at max 60 grains of black powder, it was comparable to a 1861 Springfield carbine in its firing power though due to poor metallurgy at the time it had problems of exploding after too long of use. Due to it's high damage, range and accuracy this would be a good sidearm for a sniper main or someone with paint it black -Does the same amount of damage as a BAR (Bolt action rifle) -Has the best range and accuracy of any sidearm -Has the slowest fire rate out of any sidearm -has the slowest reload speed (character inserts a paper cartridge, rams it down, then places a percussion cap on the nipple) -Condition lowers faster than any other weapon
•Girardoni air rifle, in game name, Girardoni rifle: Produced from 1780 to 1815 it was a air powered rifle that fired a .46 caliber round ball and had a range of 125 to 150 yards. The gun would use it's own round ball ammunition and you could hold 100 bullets. The gun would be another option for a silent weapon like a bow if you wanted to be stealthy. -Has the same range and accuracy as a BAR -Holds twenty rounds -Is nearly silent -Has the same fire rate as a Lancaster repeater -Does less damage then a bow
DERRINGERS: These will be a new kind of gun in the game, being so small that you can carry them even while you're carrying two pistols. They will be carried in the throwables and equipment slots once you buy two of the same derringers. While weak and having poor range, they have a damage multiplier that gets to the point where if you're face to face with the person you're firing at any body shot will instakill them
•Remington model 95, in game name, double shot derringer: This small pistol is a break action two shot over-under pistol. This cheap derringer is likely the first one you'd buy -Has one of the fastest fire rates put of any derringer -Does moderate damage, slightly less than a cattleman -Has the fastest reload speed out of any derringer
•Colt cloverleaf revolver, in game name, cloverleaf derringer: This four shot revolving derringer is, for a small pistol like this, a very high damage output and decent ammo capacity and would fit well for a player who is a good shot to use the high damage derringer in combat -Has the highest damage out of any derringer, slightly less than a Schofield -Has decent accuracy compared to other derringers -Has a decently slow reload speed -Can be upgraded to have a fifth cylinder
•Colt new line, in game name, pocket cattleman: This gun is one of the most balanced derringer in the game, firing 7-shots in a break-action revolver. It does slightly less damage then the double shot derringer and has the same fire rate as a cloverleaf -Has the highest ammo capacity of any derringer with 7-shots -Has the same fire rate as the cloverleaf -Has the second fastest reload speed out of any revolver
•Allen and wheelock Pepperbox revolver, in game name, pepperbox derringer: Pepperbox revolvers were quite popular from the mid 1830 to at most early 1860 when they were phased out by true revolver but that doesn't mean that these small quick firing guns are gonna go to waste -Has the fastest fire rate out of any derringer -Has the slowest reload speed out of any derringer -Has the worst range and accuracy out of any derringer
•Schwarzlose model 1898, in game name, 1898 pistol: This would just be a 1899 pistol with a new design based off the schwarzlose pistol. It would fill the same role of the 1899 pistol
•1874 sharps rifle, in game name, Buffalo rifle: This would be a import of the same gun from red dead redemption, being a high power, accurate and long range rifle and would serve the same purpose of the original version from rdr1 -Has slightly higher damage then the elephant rifle -Has better accuracy and range then the Springfield rifle -Has the same reload speed as the rolling block rifle
•All the melee weapons from the story: Import than to the online and have the gypsy woman sell them
CLOTHING: Import all the special hats from the story, besides John and Arthur's hats
