Vanderpump Cocktail Garden

So I’m in Vegas and dragged my poor boyfriend (on his birthday) to Vanderpump Cocktail Garden. We had to take a cab then walk another mile because Trumps dumb ass is here. Waited in a long line only to be SO DISAPPOINTED. We were seated right inside the entrance so the view was just the casino lobby. The place is super tiny so I didn’t care too much. Ordered some drinks and food. Waitress never returned to check on us. Had to eat with our fingers. No plates, napkins, utensils.. The chicken was processed chicken you would get at McDonalds. It was tasty but definitely not worth $18 for a slider. Anyway. SUPS disappointing 👎🏻

Hotels that provide comp drinks

Obviously nothing in Vegas is “free” but which hotels (if any) bring you free drinks when you’re gambling? Went a couple years ago to the flamingo and they did there. Visiting with a buddy of mine in a couple weeks

A Vegas Miracle - how I won $129,000 in my 3rd tournament ever

This is how I won $129,000 in my 3rd ever poker tournament. Note: don't try this, it probably won't turn out well for you.
I spent about 6 months grinding up a $5,000 bankroll playing home/casino games ranging from .5/1 to 1/3. The week that I hit that $5,000 mark, Matt, one of my best friends from college informed me that his job had placed him in Las Vegas for the next month and that I could crash with him for a few nights if I wanted to come on out west. I had frequent flyer miles for the flight and some Mlife/Fremont hotel comps for the rest of the trip. My grand total for flight and lodging for 10 days came to $200.
Now, I’m not going to bore you guys with low-level cash hand histories. The next 10 days were filled with me playing lowstakes poker for 10-12 hours a day. It’s as fun as it sounds – it’s not. I was having a good time in Vegas otherwise – but towards the end of the trip I had a realization: 1/2’s the same everywhere. I didn’t have to fly out to the desert to raise to $7 preflop.
After 10 days, my grand total from poker (and a fair amount of dumb degenerate shit on Fremont) was -$186. That wasn’t what I came out to do — I knew that I was a better player than my recent results had indicated. The morning of my return flight, I decided I was going to play tournaments until I either busted my $5,000 bankroll or hit something worthwhile.
I impulsively decided to not get on my plane at 11:30am. Checkout time from Luxor was at 11:00 – and I didn’t know where I was going yet. I had 30 minutes to pack up my stuff and figure out where I was going before they’d charge me a fee. I sorted TripAdvisor by cheapest first – I’ve stayed in crappy hostels/motels before and overall am a very low maintenance person. I figured that by staying somewhere for $20 a night, I’d be able to maximize the amount of shots I could take before flying back home. I accepted that there was a real chance I’d go back broke – but I didn’t really care. If I didn’t take my shot now, then when?
I booked the cheapest bed in Vegas - a 6-person shared hostel just past the Stratosphere. Let's just say you get what you pay for — it was not a happy place. A fair amount of the people in there were bordering on homelessness and there was barbed wire surrounding their outdoor gym. In addition to this, I had the constant stress of knowing that all that separated my bankroll from the rest of my roommates was a tiny lock. I took the Deuce to the strip, lived off food comps, and turned down invites from my friends to hang out. I was in town to play poker, nothing else.
Disclaimer: I had never played tournaments prior to heading out to Vegas. My only knowledge of hand ranges was from watching televised events. I downloaded a free Nash chart app on my phone while on the Deuce to the strip and studied it for 5 minutes – whatever, I get the jist of it. Let’s play some cards.
The first day of doing this I played the $140 daily at the Aria. Top 13 spots paid -- I finished in 15th. It was depressing to say the least — I felt as if I was at rock bottom. Before the first night of sleeping at the hostel I called the airline to see if I could get on the flight that I had deliberately missed the day prior. I couldn't.
I made it my goal to at least cash something so that I could get a decent hotel room.
I couldn’t have slept more than 2-3 hours the first night there. One of my roommates was loudly vomiting all night, the sheets itched, and I was going through an existential crisis... like dude, you’ve got a finance degree and you’re really doing this shit?
While on the bus to the strip, I opened Poker Atlas and saw that there was a $200 satellite to win a seat into the $1,600 Venetian main event. I decided that I was going to go take a shot at that.
I was at risk twice in the satellite but after studying the GTO method on how to win coinflips, I persevered and won a seat to the main.
The first day was surreal – once again, I was running on minimal sleep due to my housing arrangements, but I remember the following hands from day 1:
  1. Button opens to 2.2x, I’m in the BB with Q9cc. SB folds, we go HU to a flop of 832c. He c-bets, I call. Turn 4x, x/x. River Ax. I check, he bets, I x/r to like 3x his bet, he insta folds. I take it down and show air.
  2. UTG+1 opens, MP calls, I flat on the button with K10ss. 3 ways to a flop of Qs43xx. UTG+1 bets 40% pot, MP calls, I call. Turn is the Js. UTG+1 bets 60% pot, MP calls, I flat. River comes the 8s. UTG+1 snap bets 80%. MP flats, I flat. I announce king high flush, they both muck.
  3. Folds to the SB, he limps, I look down at Q10o, and check. Flop comes KQ6r. He leads 35%, I call. Turn 10. He bets, I call. River comes a J. He bets, I tank for about 45 seconds then flick in a call, he shows 76o… ship it.
The average stack after day 1 was around 40k, I bagged like 65k. I walked back to the Deuce stop outside of the Venetian and headed on my 30 minute ride back home. I kept thinking to myself, someone’s gotta win this thing, why not me?
I had to get in the money for this tournament to be able to get the fuck out of there. A min cash here was over $3k – that was more than enough for me to get a suite on Fremont for a few nights and party for a bit, then get home with my head held high.
Day 2: I get up at 7am after already being completely awake for the past 4 hours. There’s no way I slept more than 3 hours last night. I hit the Denny’s by the Stratosphere then get on the Deuce.
I get to the Venetian and feel like I’m about to fall asleep. I go to the self-serve coffee/tea dispenser in the middle of the room and make myself an iced coffee. I get to my table, and the cocktail waitress comes around. I ask for another iced coffee and toss her a fiver.
Here are some highlights from the 1st half of day 2:
  1. I open 97ss on the button, BB flats. Flop comes AK3s. BB checks, I bet 35%. He throws out a 5k chip – which I interpret as a x/r to my bet. I groan, make a joke about it being the first hand of the day, and start to muck. The dealer stops my cards midway before hitting the muck, and informs me that he didn’t raise, that he called my flop bet. Everyone laughs, I go silent and wait for him to make change. Turn is the 2s. He thinks for a second and bets 30%. I tank for like 30 seconds, then flat. River is a blank. He thinks for a second, then checks. I bet like 30% pot. He tells me that I’m an angle shooter and mucks. I tell him I’m not an angle shooter and show my 9 high. Everyone laughs, we get on with playing.
  2. CO opens, I 3b 87dd in the SB to 4x, he flats. Flop comes 1032d. I check, he checks. Turn is the 6d. I bet 55% pot, he flats. River comes the Kd. I bet 60%, he tanks, tells me he thinks I backdoored diamonds, then folds. Damn, these players are pretty good.
  3. I open KK UTG to 2.5x, UTG +1 flats. Heads up to a flop of K43r. x/x. Turn 8, I bet 40% pot, he calls. River 3, I bet 80% pot, he tanks, then calls with AK.
I bring my 3 racks of chips to the new table and immediately get some comments – whatever, I’m just on a heater, it happens. At this point, my body was giving out. I was trying my hardest not to fall asleep in between every hand.
Cutoff opens, I’m in the SB, I look down at KK. I put in the 3b, folds back to him. He puts in a healthy 4. We’re the two big stacks at the table – I’d guess he was 50bb effective while I was around 65bb. God damn, am I good enough to fold kings here? No, I’m not. I shove, he snaps, I know that I’ve just fucked up my tournament. He shows the aces. The dealer puts a king in the window, and I hold. I’m for sure the chip leader now.
I lose a few 40/60 and 60/40 flips and chip down a bit. I still have a very healthy stack, probably around 80bb.
The next 3 hands are from the second half of day 2:
  1. Aggro Asian guy on the button. Folds to him, he opens to 2.2x, SB folds, I look down at 43ss and raise to 7.5x, he flats.
Flop comes 894cc. I check, he bets, I call. Turn’s another 9. I check, he bets 75% pot, I call. River’s the 10c. I check, he bets 1.2x pot. I ask the dealer for a count of the bet – meanwhile, villain looks like he’s going to shit himself. I flick in a chip, he throws down KcQx. I laugh a little, show my 43ss, and obnoxiously say ship it.
  1. I open KQo UTG+1, MP 3bets me. I figure that a 4b from UTG+1 could take it down a fair amount of the time, so I decide to go for it. He thinks for a second and flats.
Flop comes AK4r. I check, he checks back. Turn is a 6, goes x/x again. River’s another brick. I put in a 30% value bet. He does a little grimace and tanks for like 20 seconds. It looks like he’s going to fold so I start verbally telling him that his queens are good. The dealer informs me that you’re not allowed to talk about your hand to another player. I inform him that I’m not talking about my hand, I’m talking about villains’ hand. Dealer laughs and lets me continue to antagonize villain. MP starts talking back, asking if I’m really bluffing. I inform him that once he folds, I’ll show the bluff. He ends up calling, I snap show, he pays me then gets up from the table to go for a walk.
  1. We’re playing 6 handed. UTG opens, MP flats, I flat TT on the button. 3 ways to a flop of AT9ccc. UTG bets 50% pot, MP folds, I put in a medium sized raise. He thinks about it and flats.
The turn is the Kd. He pauses for a second then checks. I figured AxKc was his most likely combo. I didn’t think he could fold AxKc to any sizing – I decide to overbet jam 2x pot. He tanks for like 5 min and eventually lets it go. He tells me later he folded AxKc. Nice fold sir.
I finished day two 2nd in chips out of the 64 players remaining. More importantly, I was in the money. My friend Matt offered to give me a ride to the hostel to grab my stuff.
On the way to the hostel I’m telling Matt how trash the place is and he’s kind of like yeah man, whatever, it can’t be that bad. We gather my belongings and head on out. Matt remarked to me that the hostel reminded him of jail mixed with a summer camp.
I open a same night hotel app and see a room at the Four Queens available for $110. The lady at check in was nice enough – however, she informed me that the only room they had available at my price point was a smoking room overlooking the Fremont St. experience. I paid the $20 to upgrade to a non-smoking in the quiet part of the hotel. Vegas man, I swear.
It’s like 2am at this point -- I get to my room, sit on the bed and close my eyes. I open them and it’s 11:00am. Ah fuck man, I gotta get to the Venetian. I hop in the shower, brush my teeth, and freshen up. Even if I don’t have clean clothes, whatever, I’m second in the main, who cares.
Some interesting hands from the first part of Day 3:
  1. I had two inexcusable punts in this tournament. This is the first one: I open 5h5c from LP, BB calls. Flop comes J62hhh. x/x. Turn is a 4x. x, I bet 50% pot, BB jams 15bb. I called – and immediately realized I fucked up, big time. He had 2 big chips in his stack that I didn’t see, making his shove effectively like 25bb. In addition, I didn’t have the 5h, I had the 5d. I really didn’t ask for a count or double check my hole cards. Villain turns over 64o and holds. In my defense, I literally didn’t know what ICM meant at the time. Whoops.
  2. Someone who I recognize from poker TV jams 22bb UTG. I’m in the CO with JJ, I ask him how much it is, he’s talkative and seems genuinely comfortable/down for me to call. I fold – I run into him a few days later at the Aria, he tells me he had AA there. I believe him.
  3. CO opens, button instantly jams 30bb effective. I’m in the SB with TT and 25bb – live reads, we’re flipping. I call for all in my effective stack, CO folds, button has AQ. I hold. He’s not happy I called with tens. Oh well, sorry bro, gg.
  4. MP opens, CO 3 bets to 7bb, button jams 20bb. I look down at 2 black aces in the big blind. I reshove, MP folds, CO calls off his 20bb stack. I’m up against AQ and QQ. I hold.
Even with my atrocious punt earlier in the day, I’m the chip leader again.
We’re down to about 15 left in the field. UTG opens, I 3b AKo on the button, he jams 20bb, I call. He has 99, a king comes on the flop and he’s gone.
It’s day 3 of the main and we’re playing 5 handed with 12 people left. Let’s fucking go.
  1. Button opens to 2.5x, I’m in the BB with A8dd, I flat. Flop comes A104r, I check, he bets, I call. Turn is a 7, x/x. River A, I bet 1.2x pot. He tanks, calls, I show, I’m good.
  2. CO opens to 2.5x, I’m in the BB with 108dd, I flat. Flop comes Kd4x2d, it goes x/x. Turn is a Kx, I check, he bets 60% pot, I flat. River is the 4d. I check, he bets pot. I tank and let it go. He tells me later he checked back a weak king on the flop.
  3. SB completes, I’m in the BB with J9o and I check my option. Flop comes Q108r. The SB donks out into me for 60% pot. I flat. Turn comes a brick and he leads into me for 60% again. I raise to 3.5x his turn bet, he thinks for a while then flats. River is another brick. He bets 80% pot into me. I tank for a while, then shove. He starts laughing and folds QQ face up.
Less than a week ago I was grinding buffet comps at Planet Hollywood. Now I have guys correctly folding top set to me.
I’ve made it to the final table. I pick up a few small pots and the two shortstacks at the table get eliminated in quick succession.
This is without a doubt the most pointless and just plain out stupid punt of my entire life: I open J2dd on the button into a ~18bb SB and a GTO robot with mid 7 figures in career earnings in the BB. Don’t do this, this is quite literally lighting money on fire. SB folds, BB flats. Flop comes Kh8h3d. I cbet, BB calls. Turn is the Kd, goes x/x.
River comes a 7h, he leads into me for half pot. Whatever, I’m going for it – I put in a raise. He thinks for all of 5 seconds then calls me with KQh. Wow, I just punted away $50,000 in ICM. Jesus Christ dude, what the fuck.
For the next orbit or two, I’m clearly pissed at myself. I get up after my button and do a lap around the poker room – I’m good. The monkey tilt is gone, and I’m ready to get back to playing normal ranges.
Anyway, nothing else really happens for a while – I look down at AKo UTG and raise it up. Folds around to the BB, he thinks for a while, then jams for about 20bb. I snap, he has AQo. I hold. I’m now second in chips. We go on a 10-minute break.
When I get back to the table, the prospect of a 5-way chop comes up. We’re all tired – and the pay jumps are very significant. If you couldn’t tell from this story, I’m a degenerate, but in this spot, I’m willing to reduce variance a bit. We run the numbers and come to an agreement – we all agree to take a very slight ICM bump to give 1st place a bit more money than his stack is worth.
I just won $129,000 -- huh? This was my second tournament cash – not too bad considering that it was my third tournament ever. Maybe I should start learning how to play MTT’s now.
I take $124,000 in a check and $5,000 in cash. I’m leaving Vegas in 4 days and don’t plan on coming home with any of the cash.
The winner of the tournament’s a pretty cool guy and he asks if I want to crash in his guest room tonight… like yeah, if that’s a real offer, I’m down. I pick up my toiletry bag from the Venetian concierge and we hit the Uber.
The next morning Matt picks me up at his house – I hit the Chase bank and deposit the $124,000. I take Matt and my other friend, Spencer out to the Sterling Brunch over at Bally’s – the entire time, Spencer just kept repeating “Davis, what the fuck”. I don’t know dude, seriously, what the fuck.
I get a suite at the D downtown that night and (very) long story short I end up hitting $100 on a number at roulette at 5am. It’s time for bed.
Here’s a link to my Hendon Mob, verifying my tournament result. Hopefully I see some of you guys at the WSOP in 2021.

15 Most Famous Slot Machines and Most Popular Slot Games

1. Liberty Bell

Invented and designed by a San Francisco mechanic named Charles Fey in 1895, the Liberty Bell is the first slot machine. The main symbols here include horseshoes, stars, spades, diamonds, hearts, and Liberty Bells. Once three bells are aligned, the machine pays 50 cents.
Having a coin slot at the top, it features small reels in the middle and a paytable at the bottom. It works like this - players insert a Nickel and pull a lever on the right-hand side to spin the reels. Although the Operator Bell and Liberty Bell have been removed from casinos, the original Liberty Bell on display can be seen in the Liberty Belle saloon in Reno, Nevada.

2. Lion's Share

One of the most famous slot machines, Microgaming’s classic slot Lion's Share, gained a lot of success back in 2014, due to news channels that discussed the topic on how Lion's Share's progressive jackpot hasn’t been hit for two decades. Thousands of people have tried but no one was lucky enough to pull it off.
Although the machine only featured 3 reels and only 1 payline, Lion’s Share has managed to become one of the most popular releases in Vegas, so popular that people waited in line just to put a coin into it and try spinning those reels.
Eventually, a New Hampshire couple hit the $2.4 million progressive jackpot in MGM’s Grand’s Lion’s Share. Soon after, MGM Grand made a decision to retire the Lion's Share machine since it required a lot of maintenance. Still, the game became part of slot history with a jackpot that took 20 years to win.

3. Megabucks

Created by IGT, Megabucks has managed to become one of the world's best progressive slot machines. The game is also responsible for numerous big wins throughout the entire jackpots’ history. Also known as the biggest money jackpots of all time, Megabucks slot machines are described as simple games with a massive progressive jackpot. One of the biggest wins was when an anonymous engineer won a staggering $39.7 million at Las Vegas' Excalibur, back in 2003.
As for the other big wins hit on this machine, there was a cocktail waitress Cynthia Jay Brennan who snagged an incredible $34.9 million at Vegas' Desert Inn, as well as a retired flight attendant hitting $27.5 million at Vegas' Palace Station. Johanna Huendl won $22.6 million whereas an Illinois businessman hit $21.3 million on the very first spin.
However, after winning the prize, one of the winner's family members had a tragic accident, which (as some believe) only supported the theory of a Megabucks curse. Other unfortunate stories are just believed to be urban legends, including anecdotes about underage players, as well as casino employees, being big winners but not being able to claim their jackpots because of specific state laws and regulation.

4. Wheel of Fortune

IGT’s Wheel of Fortune has proven to be the second most famous slot machine of all time. Featuring a bonus feature just like the real show, the slot machine is usually played by many slot fans and can be found in numerous casinos all over the globe. Although the game comes in more variations, probably the most popular one is still its 3-reel version, with a colourful wheel at the top.
The Wheel of Fortune multiplayer game features a bank of machines where every player gets their own screen. What makes the game even more exciting is the multiplayer edition where people can play the bonus round together, which really intensifies the game show aspect.
In a 5-reel Wheel of Fortune slot, however, Wild symbols will help players land winning combos and, if you’re lucky enough, you may get a Super Wild that will boost your win up to 5x! Last but not least, the Triple Action Bonus is activated by getting at least 3 Triple Action Bonus symbols anywhere on the reels. But still, none of the newer Wheel of Fortune slots measure up to the original one because of the large progressive jackpot involved.

5. Mega Fortune

Featuring 5 reels and 25 paylines, NetEnt’s Mega Fortune slot became very popular among players as it usually grows into a multimillion-euro amount before being hit. The main symbols here include luxury cars, yachts, and expensive jewellery, Mega Fortune is an online slot machine game which justifies its theme that comes with the largest ever online slot jackpots.
The game offers a few different features that make the entire gameplay more fascinating, however, by far the most interesting ones are the 3 different progressive jackpots: Mega Jackpot, Major Jackpot and Rapid Jackpot. There are counters for all 3 of these that are displayed above the reels. Champagne is the Scatter and if you land at least 3 of them simultaneously, you will trigger Free Spins bonus round. Likewise, Wheel of Luck is the Bonus symbol, and if you land 3 or more symbols in succession from left to right on an active payline, you will activate the Bonus game.
What’s interesting about this slot is the fact that a Finnish man won a huge jackpot worth €17.8 million while spinning the reels of Mega Fortune. This record from 2013, has been passed by Mega Moolah, but the game is still proof how rich players can get after playing Mega Fortune.

6. Mega Moolah

Powered by Microgaming and being among most popular slot games, Mega Moolah is a 25-payline progressive slot which has served as a competitor to Mega Fortune's big jackpots. Followed by African safari music, the game features antelopes, elephants, giraffes, lions, monkeys and zebras as the main symbols.
Landing at least 3 Scatters at the same time will trigger 15 Free Spins. What’s more, all wins hit during Free Spins are tripled, whereas Free Spins can also be retriggered. Players can win one of the 4 Progressive Jackpots within the randomly triggered Bonus round.
The game paid some of the largest slot machine jackpots that have ever been triggered. In 2015,for example, Mega Moolah gained international recognition when a British soldier Jon Heywood won a massive €17,879,645.

7. Cleopatra

Inspired by the famous Egyptian theme and Developed by IGT, Cleopatra is a 20-payline classic game that managed to stand out above similar releases. Featuring ancient Egyptian music, the main symbols here include Cleopatra, the Eye of Horus, scarabs, and pyramids. Landing at least 3 Sphinx symbols will trigger the Cleopatra Bonus, which awards 15 Free Spins. All prizes, except for the 5 Cleopatra symbols, are tripled in the Free Spins round.
The game has been so successful that it inspired its creators to make a sequel, Cleopatra II, with richer graphics and engaging sound effects. But even if you choose the original game, you'll be playing a classic that's still enjoyed by various players today. And, in case you land 5 Cleopatra symbols you’ll get a jackpot of 10,000 coins.

8. Book of Ra

Having a popular Ancient-Egypt theme, Book of Ra has always been one of the best choices to play in land based and online casinos. Powered by Novomatic, Book of Ra is a 9 payline video slot that offers plenty of bonus features and big payouts. With entertaining narrative and energising gameplay, there are numerous ways to win here.
In case you land 5 archaeologists simultaneously, you’ll get an impressive 5,000x your line bet. Earning big bucks, however, comes from the Free Spins feature. What players need to do is land at least 3 Scatter books to trigger the Free Spins feature. Pages of the book will flip and randomly determine which symbol will expand during the 10 Free Spins.
Although hitting the jackpot may not be easy, with only a few one in between, when big wins come, they can be big.

9. Starburst

There’s no denying NetEnt’s Starburst slot became kinda legendary in the iGaming universe. With its dark background and shiny space looking gemstones, Starburst slot features 5 reels and 10 paylines. The well-known futuristic music in this release is also easily noticeable, as is the game’s expanding Wild.
More precisely, the Wilds may only occur on the reels 2, 3 and 4, and, once 1 or more wilds appear on those reels, the Starburst Wild feature will be activated. During this feature, Starburst wilds expand to cover the entire reel and remain while the other reels re-spin. Should a new wild land during a re-spin, it expands and stays along with any previously expanded Starbursts for another re-spin.
Another cool feature is that Starburst pays both ways, instead of only paying you for landing at least 3 identical symbols on adjacent reels starting with the reel furthest to the left. The maximum single spin payout for a person (betting the $200 maximum) is $100,000. But, in order for that to happen, you must land five bars on consecutive reels on an active payline. Players love this slot, probably because it’s suitable for both newbies and experienced players.

10. Immortal Romance

Powered by Microgaming, Immortal Romance is based on sci-fi and the cult of Vampires which has become one of the popular casino slot machines in the last couple of years. Apart from superb graphics and great audio and visual effects, the slot features 5 reels and 243 paylines, and the theoretical RTP rate of 96.86%. The four main characters are Amber, Troy, Michael and Sarah.
When it comes to features and bonus games, Immortal Romance offers different variants. Wild Desire feature can occur randomly, and as soon as it does, it can turn 1 to 5 reels completely Wild. Likewise, landing 3 or more Scatters anywhere on the reels in this game, activates the Chamber of Spins feature which cannot be triggered during Wild Desire.
The game is still among the most popular slots, as many players still try their luck in this slot in the hope to get the highest multiplier possible.

11. Gonzo’s Quest

Beautifully designed video slot powered by NetEnt, Gonzo Quest features 5 reels and 20 paylines. The story is based on the famous conquistador Gonzalo Pizzaro who is on his way to the Peruvian ruins and just about to experience the unique quest.
Now, Gonzo’s Quest has become one of the most popular slot games of all time, probably because it comes with a few interesting features, Avalanche Multipliers feature being the most interesting one of all. In Essence, the reels in the slot move in a cascading manner which resemble an Avalanche. As you activate each new Avalanche, you will win a multiplier. Multipliers are displayed above the reels, and go up to 5x, that is if you land 4 or more avalanches simultaneously.

12. Age of the Gods

Being among famous slot machines and inspired by Ancient Greek mythology, Age of the Gods is a 5-reel, 20-payline progressive slot powered by Playtech. The main characters are Athena, Zeus, Hercules, and Poseidon power up 4 free game modes that offer extra wilds and win multipliers! Once you start spinning, you’ll come across a series of bonus features, such as Athena Free Games, Zeus Free Games, Poseidon Free Games and Hercules Free Games.
Wild logo is the game’s wild card and it substitutes for all symbols, with the exception of the Scatter. Landing at least 3 Scatters anywhere on the reels simultaneously triggers the Bonus game. Moreover, landing 5 God symbols in any order on an active payline will get you 200x your line bet!
During the main game, any spin can activate the Age of the Gods Mystery Jackpot. This mini game guarantees a win of up to 4 progressive jackpots. All you gotta do is click on the coins to reveal jackpot symbols, and if you match 3 identical ones, you will win that jackpot.

13. Money Honey

Having a cute theme, Money Honey is a 5-reel and a 243 payline slot themed around honey. With Wilds, Free Spins, Scatters and multipliers, it is a fast-paced exciting creation featuring vibrant colours. Likewise, it is a mobile-optimized slot which may be an excellent choice if you’re new to online gambling or if you’ve been playing for years.
Just like in other games, Wilds will help you win payouts as they are able to replicate most other symbols on the reels once a winning combination has been made. Another symbol you may want to keep your eyes on is a Money Wheel card. Once you manage to land at least 3 of them on your reels after a spin, the bonus game begins, and you spin a big wheel to choose a prize.

14. Quick Hit

And our selection wouldn’t be complete without Bally's Quick Hit slot. Featuring traditional Las Vegas symbols with sharp graphics and relaxed music, the video slot has 5 reels, 3 rows, and 30 paylines. Once you decide how many paylines you want to bet on, your gaming adventure can begin. There are Scatters symbols and three bonus games to benefit from.
The biggest payout here comes from landing the triple seven symbol. Should you land 5 of these lucky numbers on the reels at the same time, you will win 5,000 coins, whereas if you land five wild symbols, you’ll get 12,500 coins.
Those looking for hitting a jackpot should pay attention to Quick Hit Platinum symbols as 5 of these contribute to 5,000x players’ original bet amount – and even more, with the max bet activated. The second-highest jackpot can be hit by landing 9 Quick Hit Slot symbols. Both the Quick Hit Platinum and regular Quick Hit symbols must occur on or within one position of the first payline to be eligible for a jackpot win.

15. SlotZilla Zip Line

And now something completely different. We’re finishing our selection of famous slots in style, with the world’s largest slot machine - StotZilla Zip Line - 128 feet tall which has two take-off levels. This $12 million SlotZilla zip line took more than a year to build and opened its doors in 2014 and has already had more than 2 million riders so far.

SlotZilla offers two different rider experiences - the upper Zoomline and a lower Zipline. This unique machine has a huge video screen with reels and a gigantic arm, replicating a true slot machine experience.

My Local Casino is a Real Rip-Off

Maybe I’m addicted to it. Every time I stand under dim synthetic light, every time I see flashing LEDs, and hear the whirring of slot machines, and clacking of poker chips, my heart races. I had $5,000 budgeted, and I wasn’t going to walk out of that casino till I had doubled it or lost it. Sure, you could say I’m rich, but the only thing I can remember getting from wealth is paranoia; the benefits and leisure that so many seem to think come attached with wealth have passed me by. I know I’d spent a lot at that casino, and up until today little acknowledgement had been made about my existence, let alone my wealth. I’d have at least expected comped rooms or games or something; I’ve even heard of secret passages and high stakes rooms in some places. It bothered me, but I figured stories of massive Vegas resorts wouldn’t exactly be realistic expectations to foist upon the Native American casino near my house.
The “resort” is rather modest. Nothing in the casino looks like it’s been updated since the 80’s and the red floors and beige walls have a number of suspiciously unidentifiable stains, but it’s the only place I’ve got, and you don’t get free drinks playing online slots. Still I at least wanted the dealers and waitresses to make small talk. I don’t think I had ever heard them speak more than three words in a sentence before today. The casino itself is medium sized I guess, they’ve got a few good games, and it’s usually not super crowded, but no one is overly-friendly anyways. I was sitting at the bar, which is kind of in the middle of the floor, but the place is big enough that you couldn’t see it if you were playing slots or a few other games. I usually only had a few cocktails before I started gambling, enough to have fun, but not enough to make too bad of decisions. I left my tip on the table and slowly got up, stretching my arms out. The table games were fairly close, and I made my way over to them. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the waitress grab my tip off the table and shoot me a fairly apathetic glance as I walked away.
I sat down at the blackjack table, I usually started off with blackjack and depending on how that went, continued with table games or moved to slots. I hadn’t seen the dealer here before, but he was a younger guy, blonde hair and sunken blue eyes. Come to think of it the casino was supposed to be on a reservation, but I’d only ever seen other white guys working there. I wondered if someone was being taken advantage of here, but it didn’t bother me too much beyond being a little unsettling.
“You new here?”
“Yup, started Thursday.” He responded
I thought it was Friday, just seemed like a weird way to phrase it instead of saying yesterday. $100 bet to start. Ace. I get excited. Six. Dealer has a Queen. I stand and he turned over a nine. Disappointing, but not unexpected. The dealer made some remark and I asked if he liked it here so far.
“Sure… do you?”
It was a weird question. I mentioned they didn’t talk much at the casino, this was probably the third or fourth time I’d been asked a question other than what I wanted to drink or bet. It seemed like a poor business decision to ask questions that make your patrons wonder what they’re doing at your casino. Still what seemed stranger was how he managed to ask the question as if he was concerned, but put no emotion behind it.
“When I win!” I smiled.
He flashed a smile that quickly faded. I bet another hundred and lost again. It was time to walk away. Sometimes in these spots I continued, but not today. I walked past some slot machines and thought about playing a few spins but restrained myself, and after a short walk found myself in the bathroom. It was a sort of ritual, if I started off bad I went into the bathroom to wash my face off. I don’t know if it made me play better but it usually made me feel better. I turned on the faucet and let the cold water run through my hands a bit before dabbing them onto my face. I mentioned I was paranoid before. A while ago I read somewhere that you could tell if a mirror was a two-way mirror or not by putting your finger up to it, and I’ve been jabbing every mirror I’ve found since. I looked in the mirror. I put my finger to it. It was a two-way mirror. No matter what angle I looked from my finger touched the finger in the mirror, that’s how they said you could tell. I thought it couldn’t be true. Another test. I cupped my hands and put them against my eye, this is supposed to block out the light in the room so you can see through the mirror. I leaned in.
“Hey!”
I jolted, dropped my hands and turned around quickly.
“Uh, got a lighter?” The man asked.
He was wearing a suit, not an expensive one, but it was still unusual for someone to wear a suit just to go gamble, and if this guy was asking me for a lighter in the bathroom I assumed he didn’t work there.
“No, sorry.” I said.
He had neat brown hair and strained eyes. He said nothing in response, but walked over the faucet next to the one I was using and began washing his hands, looking over at mine every few seconds. I felt awkward. I should have just checked the mirror; it would have been weird but I knew something was wrong anyway. I walked out.
I paced around the floor for a little bit, just thinking. I knew that guy was there to stop me from looking into the mirror, or window, or whatever. I calmed down. Thinking about it logically, casinos have cameras and stuff everywhere, sure I thought it was creepy, but I never really confirmed that it was a two-way mirror anyway. My mind was racing, and I autopiloted back to the blackjack table.
“Back already?” The dealer asked.
I didn’t say anything, but I put up a $500 bet. I just wanted to burn through my money and leave at this point. Ace. Queen. Blackjack.
“Congratulations.”
The timing of this was too perfect, almost like they didn’t want me leave, or maybe a strange sort of bribe. I needed to make a move right there. “Hey are there two-way mirrors in the bathrooms here?” I figured it wouldn’t be the best way to approach it, but I thought there was nothing they could do to me, and the new guy had given off an impression that I had gotten from no one else here.
He kept peering down at the chips, seemingly not wanting to make eye contact. “I… don’t know, but have you checked out the hotel?”
I hadn’t, like I said before, the casino had never offered me even discounted rooms.
“Take the stairwell.”
I cashed out. Small profit, but I didn’t really care at this point. It felt like the whole casino had gone quite when I walked over to the counter. The stairwell was near the back of the casino floor, decently far away from the elevators, and I started walking towards it. They were watching me. All of them. There were maybe about thirty people playing slots or drinking at the bar that I had to walk past. Maybe five employees either standing around or serving people, and they were all staring at me. Not with malice though, not even fear, it seemed like they were more curious than anything. There was a bald guy in a suit standing by the door to the stairwell, classic hitman type. Even through his sunglasses I could feel him staring at me. I took a deep breath and approached the door. It was too late to back out now, my legs were moving on their own, and it felt like a better idea to feign ignorance if he confronted me. He opened the door and held it as I walked through. I was surprised, but I couldn’t let it show. Somehow this seemed more ominous than if I had been turned away. Behind me, I could see out of the corners of my eyes that everyone on the casino floor had begun to stand up and shuffle around like children waiting to be released for recess. The door closed behind me. I walked up the stairs and wondered which floor I should go to, but the choice was made easy for me. There was only one flight of stairs leading to a second floor, yet when I had first entered the stairwell it somehow gave the impression of stretching up much further. I put my hand against the metal push bar, and the heavy door clicked and slowly swung open.
I was in a hallway. It was dark, the only lighting seemed to be coming from white LED strips along either side of the floor, almost like they were guiding me forward, and the carpet itself was a deep blue. As I looked around, I noticed that it seemed a lot less like a hotel hallway, and more like one you’d find in an office building. The walls were grey, and the five or so doors that lined either wall seemed cheaply made, and had those regular brass door handles without locks. They weren’t numbered, or labeled with any other identifiers. I could have tried to open any one of them, but something was pulling me towards the door at the end of the hallway. It looked like all of the others, but it was in front of me and I could hear a faint humming coming from it the closer I walked. I felt a faint pressure building behind my temple as I walked forwards, and it was slowly getting worse. By the time I made it to the door, my head was pounding inside, and I could barely think straight. I grabbed the handle and hesitated for what felt like an hour before slowly turning it. The door clicked open and I hesitated once more before flinging it open in one violent motion.
I let out a small breath, but there was nothing to gasp at. From the doorway I could see a powered on computer monitor sitting atop a small desk. The computer itself looked rather old and lay on the floor underneath the desk. This seemed to be the source of the humming noises, and I felt silly for thinking it was something more sinister. I stepped into the room. It was small. There was a cheap mattress with some blankets on it shoved against the left wall, and against the right was a pile of clothes and a messy stack of papers and books. Someone was living here, and I thanked god that they weren’t there. I guess I should have left, but my headache still hadn’t gone away and I felt maybe it was signaling that something more was missing. I also wasn’t going to walk back into the casino after what I had seen. I walked over to the pile of papers in the corner and picked one off the top. There was a calculator on top of it, and the paper had some basic arithmetic scrawled onto it, along with some phrases like “operating cost” and “revenue” tossed around. Regardless it seemed like the person who wrote it was inexperienced with running any sort of business. I looked closer. “$5000, +$50, Blackjack”. The easy feeling that had washed over me vanished. That paper had obviously been written on some time ago, there was an old coffee stain in one of the corners and the ink had faded a bit. I had only started gambling about an hour ago and yet it had exactly how much I walked into the casino with, exactly how much profit I made, and on exactly what game. My heart started to race and my headache got worse. I quickly rifled through some of the other pages and they all had similar notes and calculations on them. I stopped.
It was time. I suppose subconsciously I had been putting it off, but the obvious thing to do was check the computer. I walked over to the desk, and sat in the office chair in front of it. I could hear my heart beats like drums, and my stomach felt like it was tying knots. But why? At worst I had just found out some scam, nothing super weird. But I knew. It wasn’t locked or anything, it was just sitting open on the desktop, but there was nothing on it, just the recycle bin, Chrome, and one folder labeled “Journal”. I opened it. There were hundreds of text files, only labeled with numbers. I opened the first one and read it. I opened the second and read it. I opened the fiftieth and read it. They were all the same. All exactly like this post. I always started off with blackjack, always made a small profit or loss, always recognized something was wrong, and always end here, writing this post. My headache went away.
“Sir?”
A voice from behind me. I turn my head around, but keep typing. The bald guy from before.
“Time for bed.”
I don’t feel afraid.
I feel comfortable.

ULPT: While playing a table game at a casino, secretly pocket some of your own chips so that when you color out, the pit boss marks you down as losing more money than you actually did, and spending more money gets you more comps. (More casino tips inside)

Keep in mind the dealers do have an idea of how much you actually lost so you can’t go crazy with it. Also if they catch you doing it more than once, they will tell the pit boss about it. It’s not illegal or anything to take your own chips off your stack, but they don’t like people trying to lie about how much they won or lost. When you’re done at the table, ask to color out and the dealer will exchange your chips for higher denomination ones so they’re easier for you to hold/carry. They then call the pit boss over to look at the chips and make sure the dealer exchanged for the right amount. This is when the pit boss sees what you’re walking away with and marks down how much you won or lost.
-When you leave a table, always cash your chips in at the cage before going to another table and then buy in with cash again at the new table so it appears that you are spending more. In the casinos eyes, if you sit down at a new table with chips from another table, then you’re not spending more money, just the same money at a different table. You want it to look like you’re spending a lot. The pit boss keeps track of how much you are buying in for each time you sit down at a table (you always give them your players card when you sit down so they can put the info on your account.)They also keep track of how much you are wagering per hand, but in my opinion it’s not worth it to wager more than you’re comfortable with just to increase your comps. You could end up losing a LOT more money than what the comps will be worth.
I’ve personally done all of these “tips” except the waiting on line one and the sticking my card in slot machines for other people to earn me points. But I have seen other people pull off the waiting in line trick, and I have forgotten my card in a slot machine many times and came back for it to find someone playing with my card still in there getting points for their play. And the using someone else’s card for free parking, the person who owns the high level card was my friend.
Thanks for reading, hope this helps some people out on their next trip to the casino! I’d be happy to answer any questions about casinos or Las Vegas for anybody who’s planning a trip out here. (Disclaimer- I don’t work for a casino I just hang out in them a lot)
Edit: hi everybody, this post has got a lot of attention so I want to add- There are some people commenting who actually work the floor in casinos who disagree with some of the things I’ve written, so, even though I know these things have worked for me, you might want to read those comments before actually trying any of the tips and then decide who you want to take advice from. Thanks for reading!

Anyone ever get roofied in a casino?

I was in a lower level casino on the strip in Las Vegas prior to Corona. I was having some luck at both blackjack and roulette. I was ordering mixed drinks (mistake I realize now) and was up around $500 in chips with another $750 in cash in my wallet. I was tipping the cocktail waitresses and the dealers nicely and after about two hours gambling (I think) I woke up on the bathroom floor, no idea how I got there and my chips and wallet were gone. Fortunately I still had my hotel room key. A bathroom attendant saw me struggling to get up and I believe he was in on it. He said he would help me look and promptly disappeared.
I went back to my hotel and really struggled to get there and in the room. I can handle my liquor and didn't really have that many drinks which makes me think I was roofied. I reported my loss to security the next day and never heard back from them. My credit card was billed for bus fare passes the next day before I shut everything down, leading me to believe it was a local who got my wallet. They also tried to get to my Paypal account unsuccessfully using my business email address. Can I legally force security to review the surveillance tapes and see if I can see what happened and how should I go about that? They were very unwilling to help me. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My Vegas trip report for 12/25 - 12/30

I had the holidays to myself this year (mid 30s bachelor, siblings were with in-laws) and had a comped room at Aria so I made a trip to Vegas from San Francisco, CA. I had told myself I will take a day off the Strip to visit Fremont.
My strategy - This is a more aggressive style I've been playing this holiday season. Before I never pressed my bets and it was just a grind session. While this trip was a negative, I believe that if I did not press my bets on the hot shooters, my losses would be greater and my wins would be less. The data does not show the times where I was out 75% of my buy-in and a hot shooter came in to save my ass
  1. Make the pass line bet for minimum. On $5 tables, I went max odds up to 5x. On $10, $15, $25 tables, I went with 1x, 2x, 3x.
1A) If the dealer is friendly and making jokes and small talk, I would bet $1-$5 on the pass for them.
2) I place all the inside numbers 5, 6, 8, 9 for the minimum bet.
3) If the point is 4, 6, 8 10, I make a two way hardway for just the point number for $5 and $1 tip
4) If there is the ATS bonus, I typically played it. On $5 tables, I bet two way 212 ($2 All Small, $1 All, $2 All Tall). At $10 and $15 tables, 555 for me, 212 for dealers
5) I try to press my wins up to quarters (for 5/9, it goes along $5 > $10 > $25. for 6/8, $6 > $12 > $24 > $30) before collecting.
5A) If it's a cold table and I'm in the red, I would collect the first win before pressing.
5B) If I have successfully pressed it up to quarters, if I collected a win off the pressed bet, and if I had already made a good profit (more than 50% of my buy-in, I keep pressing up past $100.
6) If the table is cold, I give it 2 go-arounds to see if it heats up. If a shooter had a hot roll, I play 1 more go-around to see if they still got heat.
7) After color up, I leave all the loose $1 and $5 chips on the table

Some highlights
  1. Another player and I both hit either All Tall or All Small for $5 each several times in a session
  2. At Planet Hollywood, I bought in just as a shooter started to heat up. He was a new player so he only had the pass line, no odds, and the field. I had my inside numbers pressed up to $100+ each. Made $500 off the guy's roll and his own stack never grew. We kept telling him to place odds and to play the numbers, but he kept his own style. I was the next shooter and rolled for 25 minutes, again pressing several up past $100+
  3. At MGM Grand, we had a hot shooter and the dealer was just giving a lot of us shit for not pressing enough or adding to our bets. I had pressed up to $100+ and he just kept shaking his head at us. The players next to me never pressed.
  4. At Bellagio, I stepped in just as a quiet older lady started her roll. She had a hot roll and hit the points instantly several times, hitting several hard points, and I had pressed up again. She only made one side of the bonus and it got me out of the red. I head over to Park MGM and 30 minutes later she joins the table. This time she hits the bonus for my 555/212 bet. Session ended with $1200 profit. If you wanted to know - she always played stick left, no dice setting, just picked it up, and flicked the dice like a lady throwing her silk handkerchief
  5. At Excalibur, I stepped into a roll in progress. For some reason, the other side of the table had the puck off and I bought in mid-roll. This is my personal NO-NO rule. I would have waited it out, but I made a mistake and disturb the roll. The guy was hot and I pressed my $5 to $100. After he PSO, I just colored up.

Some take-aways
  1. My best sessions were just being in the right place at the right time.
  2. The female players had the best rolls. The better ones were playing besides their husbands. Single women, not too "hot"
  3. Set the dice if you want and if you believe. No one cares as long as you're winning. One beginner shooter had a hot roll, but he had the worst roll style in the world. The dice wouldn't even make it down the table, it slipped out of the hand, if he manages to get it down the table, he chucked it so hard it destroyed all the stacks.
  4. TIP THE DEALERS!! I played and tipped constantly at Park MGM and the dealers recognized me every night. They even talked to the pit boss to let me play with the lower minimum if they had just upped it before I joined in. I tipped at every table during the entire trip so the dealers knew my bets and would remind me if I had missed something.

2017 Las Vegas Shooting; there is something that really puzzles me...

Recently, someone posted a thread discussing the possible motive(s) Stephen Paddock had for committing the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. Although I agree that we will probably never know for sure what his motive was, that thread got me thinking about the case in general, and there is one more mystery about this case that puzzles me... a relative lack of media interest and press coverage.
Sure, the story was all over the news for a few days, but then it just sort of... blew over, and more or less stayed that way. Now, I've written about some underreported cases before (Florida transgender women murders, Detroit serial killer(s), Chicago strangulation murders, Sheila Davis case), so I can see how some cases slip through the cracks from time to time... but that was literally the deadliest single-person mass shooting in the US history. 58 people were killed, 851 were injured. There are thousands of people affected by this case: be it the surviving victims who were injured, or families who lost their loved ones.
From what I've been able to find out, the press never even interviewed some casino employees (blackjack dealers, cocktail waitresses, security guards etc.) that might have had contact with Paddock shortly prior to the shooting; or even for months or years prior to the incident, in case he was a regular at that casino. Some of the general statements were released, but nothing specific, and almost none of those people appeared on TV. Yes, one of security guards present during the shooting gave an interview... on Ellen. Yup, Ellen. As for the authorities, it took them months to release security footages from the casino, showing Paddock in the days prior to the shooting. I mean, within days of 9/11, there were security footages of hijackers boarding the planes, all over the media, and that was back in 2001.
And other than those footages, it seems like there is only one photograph of this guy on the Internet. The one where he is drinking in a bar, with his girlfriend. With his eyes closed. Did Paddock really have no profile on Facebook, Twitter or other social media sites? And was that "bar photo" the only photograph of him that his girlfriend published on her Facebook page? They couldn't have pulled up his most recent DMV photograph, or ask his family to provide a more recent photo?
And what is up with Paddock's home being broken into shortly after the shooting? Was that ever solved? Who did that, and why?
I mean, I think it is kind of fitting that monsters like Paddock don't get some huge notoriety in the end (even if that wasn't their motive for the murders), and there are some theories that a limited media exposure of such crimes can discourage copycats... but keeping in mind the sheer number of victims, this is just weird, almost creepy. By scale, this almost seems like an equivalent of Columbine shooting being reduced to a criminology footnote.
So... how do you explain this seeming lack of media interest and exposure in such a huge case? Do you think that casino owners paid the press off to keep this under wraps as much as possible, hoping to avoid bad publicity? Was the press simply not that interested because there was no particular angle or issue to explore (other than gun control), since Paddock's motive remains unknown? Is mass shooting, eerily, not such a big news anymore; not even the one that claims dozens of victims? Was it a combination of those factors, or some other reason entirely?

Two Karens lash out on just about anyone they can because their husband's cheated on them and it's obviously everyone else's fault.

Hi, MrReddit! I've just recently discovered your videos and have become obsessed because I love all the quirky voices you do for the characters! I have worked in customer service in 4 star resorts in Las Vegas for 12 years so I have a TON of entitledparent and choosingbegger stories, but this one is probably one of my all-time favorites, even thou it wasn't funny at the time. Obligatory warnings; I'm on mobile, English speaker but not the best with grammapunctuation (please be gentle) and my first story ever sharing on this sub! TLDR at the bottom.
Backstory: I currently work as a cocktail waitress on the strip ( I don't want to disclose which one I work at for personal reasons. ) I work the graveyard shift and the girl I come in after doesn't care about her job too much, so people can go quite a while without getting a drink from her cause she's just not around. Also, this was a huge event weekend. We had a concert out at the beach, one in the events center and a huge convention staying over the weekend. So I knew just being there would be choas but I had no idea what was in store.
Our cast: Le Wild Karen (LWK); she was in the worst mood ever and insisted on ruining everyone else's day too. Getting Worked-up Karen (GWK); of course she couldn't let her psycho friend be a raging b-word all by herself right? Co-worker #1; first person to warn me that these women are in my section and they're looking for blood. Co-workers #2&3; the girls who were getting yelled at just as I was walking up to the Karens. And last but not least me.
So, I step out onto the floor, getting ready to get bombarded by angry and impatient guests, when co-worker #1 walks up to me and informs me about these 2 insane ladies that are sitting in my section. She tells me they haven't been gambling, which is literally the only thing you're required to do to get a complimentary drink, but they've been screaming like banchees at everyone walking by for any reason they can think of. I just sighed, thanked her for the heads up and went around taking as many drink orders as possible.
Finally, I get to these ladies, who have been screaming at co-workers #2&3 for a few minutes now about everything from them having not been served a drink in "over 2 hours", which is usually a complete lie people will try to use to potentially get us in trouble, to their room service that morning having taken over an hour to bring them breakfast. When my co-workers see me there, they finally have their out and basically run away as fast as possible. This is the conversation that ensues:
Me: Do you ladies want anything to dr- LWK: IT IS ABOUT TIME SOMEONE DECIDED TO DO THEIR GOSH DARN JOB AROUND HERE AND GET US SOME DRINKS. (They were a lot more explicit than this, I'm just trying to keep it YouTube friendly.) GWK: MY GOD, I THOUGHT THIS WAS A 4 STAR RESORT, YOU'D EXPECT TO GET TREATED BETTER THAN THIS BULL. Me: Well, generally, ladies, you're supposed to be gambling to get complimentary drinks. We can get in a lot of trouble if we just pass them out for free, so some waitresses will avoid areas where they see people aren't playing. LWK: looking at me like I just kicked a puppy HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY. I HAVE BEEN GAMBLING FOR HOURS. IT'S $200 A NIGHT TO STAY AT THIS PIECE OF POOP CASINO AND I SPENT ALMOST $400 ON DINNER TONIGHT. IF I WANT A DRINK, YOU'LL GET ME ONE. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME, YOU LITTLE HALFWIT? At this point, I'm just so shocked that I'm speechless for a minute. Then finally I tell them both that I won't be serving them and keep taking orders through the rest of my station.
A few minutes later, GWK walks up to me and in her best woe is me voice says, "listen, my friend and I are on this vacation because we both just found out our husbands have been cheating on us and we needed to get away. Ever since, we've gotten here, everything has gone wrong and we may be taking out our frustrations in the wrong places, but we seriously have been gambling and we would like a drink, please." Me: The only way that I'll agree to serve you, is if I get an apology, from both of you. GWK: looks back at her friend, who is just glaring daggars at us I doubt she's going to apologize, but I'll apologize for us both. Me: No, I would like an apology from BOTH of you or I refuse to serve you and I will call security and have you escorted off the casino floor.
GWK walks back to her friend, after a few more minutes of taking more drink orders and starting to walk back to the service bar and fill them, I feel the most aggressive TAP TAP on my shoulder. I spin around to see LWK, who just screams, "LET ME SPEAK WITH YOUR MANAGER RIGHT NOW!" insert Mr Reddit REEEE here. I tell her that I'll go get him and walk into my service bar, where she can't see me. I pick up the phone and call security. I let them know that there are 2 psycho ladies that are yelling and berating everyone because I guess it's the world's fault that their husband's would cheat on them. And so far, I've seen them harrass 4 different employees and who even knows if they're harrassing guests. About 5 minutes later, when I'm dropping off drinks in my section, 3 very large, well built security guards walk up to the ladies and tell them they need to go. LWK points at me and says, "what did that grunt tell you happened? Because we've just been sitting here minding our own business, asking her to get us drinks! She should be asked to leave for not doing her job, not us! We're paying to stay here!" Security pulls out handcuffs and that makes the Karen's screech and yell more about how they did nothing wrong, I'm just an awful person for not doing my job and that they'll contact corporate and get us all fired. When I finally got around to asking about what happened to them, security told me they were kept inside a holding cell to "calm down" for 12 hours, then they were 86'd from ever staying at one of our sister properties again.
TLDR; Two Karens found out their husband's had been cheating on them, so they went on vacation to Vegas, where they lashed out on as many people as they could. Finally, after they wouldn't apologize for the terrible things they said to me, just to get free drinks, they asked to talk to my manager but instead got put in a holding cell for 12 hours and are 86'd from all our sister properties.
I hope you liked the story! I know it was a long one but I have a ton of other stories similar to this one, let me know if anyone's interested in me posting them one day!

My attempted guide to live low stakes poker in Vegas

Thought this could be handy to some people heading out there, especially at this time of year. I'm a BE micro stakes donk who plays online for fun with some casino experience in London, UK, decided to head out to Vegas to see the sights and blow some money on live poker for the experience. Spent some time googling before going because there are so many rooms that it can be tricky choosing one to play at, here's my take on it. I went for 10 days and got back yesterday, only playing 1/2 and a few donkaments.
Some tips before going - most of the rooms are pretty similar in terms of quality, mostly tourists/old men with one or two decent young players. Each room will run different promos of some kind or another, I would recommend downloading the 'Bravo Poker Live' app and spending 15 minutes or so having a flick through the poker rooms - you can star the ones you are interested in plus keep an eye out for other games you might want to play (few rooms ran 1/1 PLO for example). It also shows live wait list and how many tables are running that I found to be pretty accurate. The app also details all of the promotions that the poker rooms run, for example how much you get paid for a royal etc. Also make sure you sign up for the reward cards, it's free to do, takes a few minutes and pretty much everywhere will give you $2 an hour towards food. Also - all drinks are free everywhere, including alcohol! You just need to tip the cocktail waitresses.
Ballys
I really liked it here and turned up one morning before going Grand Canyon and it had the most insane game I've ever seen - they run a (n optional) $20 straddle from any position and some guy and his friend were doing it for like an hour straight. Good cocktail service and friendly dealers, normally was at least two tables going during the day, definitely the softest games around without a notable absence of pros/crushers, I think this is because they don't do promos. They do, however, give you a free buffet when you play for fours hours or more which was awesome and I took advantage of a lot of times before eating and going elsewhere.
MGM
I liked this place because of the promo it ran - if you hit a full house you get a ticket into a raffle (they just put all the tickets into a box) and draw a ticket once an hour, if your ticket gets pulled you win $200 in cash. I was lucky enough to win it once. They also have a good full house promo thing where they put particular full houses up on the wall (for example 555TT and JJJ99) and you win a certain amount if you hit them (it was $1500 the last day I played). Pretty active room with a lot of tourists (especially crazy on Saturday night after some MMA fight or something happened in the hotel) but I did notice a lot of the same guys sipping water playing through the early hours feeding on the fish. Overall though a decent room plus you get $2 an hour in comps for food that you can use at Starbucks as well as other places in the casino. Side note - I've never seen so many insanely hot women in one place. The poker room is just off from a nightclub and you get a steady stream of some of the world's most beautiful women stumbling out wearing next to nothing on weekend evenings. Someone at our table actually paid a guy $20 at the table next to us to move so he had a better view!
Planet Hollywood
The atmosphere in here is unlike anywhere else, tunes are pumping with 10/10 birds dancing next to naked on the Blackjack tables opposite, was like playing in the middle of a nightclub. There isn't really a room as such, it's just a load of tables in the centre of the casino. Was one of the busier places, often 10+ tables running in evenings. This is the kind of place that attracts guys buying in for the maximum wearing jewel encrusted watches on both wrists and showing their buddies sitting behind them their cards before shoving on a bluff. The music brings a very noticeable tempo to the game, people play and bet insanely quickly and nearly everyone was drinking booze in the evenings, not really the place for old man nits. A guy hit a royal when I was there and got $500. Alas, the atmosphere got to me and I ended up getting pissed as a fart and dropping a lot so be careful if you get caught up in atmospheres, great action room though, probably my favourite 'unique' experience.
Excalibur
Cool room that did cheap tourneys ($45) a few times a day that turn into 5BB shove fest after an hour or so. Easy room with a lot of drunk tourists, I actually regret not coming back here and checking it out more. They do a thing where if your aces get cracked you get a free spin on a 'wheel of fortune' type thing - most of the prizes are $25 but you have the chance to win a few hundred. Seemed easy level of play with little or no pros/regs
Mandalay Bay
Only played here for a few hours, nice room next to a huge sportsbook but the tournament structure was horrible - I stupidly registered 30 minutes late and got like 10BB if that. Cash was full of people playing at the hotel and limping every hand but I only played a few hours on like a Wednesday morning so not sure what it's like in the evenings.
Flamingo
Action! Didn't play much but seemingly everyone drinks and the games are fast and loose, definitely worth checking this place out. They run 1/1 PLO too but I couldn't get a game going when I was there
Caesars Palace
I turned up here at like 5am one morning and gave it a go, left after 30 minutes. Table was full of absolute beasts with $1k + stacks, extremely noticeable step up in quality compared to other rooms and not just marginal either, I was well out of my depth. It was a really nice room to play in and the casino was cool, I was going to give it another go but didn't get around to it, I assumed there must be a lot of fish if this many reg pros were playing.
Bellagio
Really nice room and probably the most elegant casino in Vegas, twice tried getting in a game here but the waitlist was like an hour long both times (38 people!) so gave it a miss. Twice I showed up and gawped at Doyle Brunson like a tourist, also saw Negreanu as well. Looked like a lot of big pros really do play here, they have a large selection of games including mixed and high stakes. Kinda regret not sticking around and playing here just in the hopes of getting a table change somewhere near Bobby's room so I could lean over and watch those guys for an hour or so, I suspect I'm not the only one thinking like that. FYI 1/3 is the minimum game here.
Golden Nugget
This is downtown so about a 30 minutes bus ride from the strip depending on traffic. Quite a lot of tables in a tight room and it's the only poker room on Downtown (I think? Binions only had tourneys running IIRC) so you get a lot of drunk tourists wandering in off of the Freemont street show. I actually had my best session here after shoving the turn with a J on a 9TQK board and getting called by two people without a straight, this should tell you everything you need to know about the calibre of play.
Well hopefully this gives people an idea of what they're heading into, happy to answer other Vegas specific questions if anyone has any, I hardly slept and smashed the shit out of the city for a week so feel I picked up quite a bit about how it works now. Overall the games are very easy compared to your average 1/2 in London for example. Best week of my life, fuck coming home :(

Trip report: four nights at Encore for anniversary for $8500

Trip report: four nights at Encore for anniversary for $8500
My wife (32F) and I (31F) had our one-year anniversary at Encore for four nights. We had previously spent our honeymoon doing the same Encore trip. All together, we’ve been to Vegas five times and Reno two times since meeting a few years ago.
Heaven on Earth
Cost: all-in, including transportation, lodging, entertainment, food, etc, we spent $8500. That includes our bankrolls of $1600 each. My wife left with $400 of her bankroll and I actually won $500, but we don’t return any of that to offset the $8500, we just add it to next trip’s bankroll.
Lodging: we went with Encore, our favorite casino resort in the world. We prefer it to Wynn because it’s more intimate, has the Players Lounge (a special casino pit with couches and dealers in classy black dresses), sometimes has lower limits than Wynn, doesn’t get much tourist traffic from the strip or Palazzo, and it has natural light from the pool and the atrium next to high limit. Both Wynn and Encore are on the quieter side, but Encore even more so. We got the Panoramic Suite, which is the same as the regular Resort Suite, just on a higher floor.
Comps: at the end of the trip I spoke with the on-duty casino host about comps. He gave me $150 and my wife $100 off our bill. I felt that was more than generous. While we did give them a ton of play (maybe 6 hours a day), we’re low rollers. I play craps, blackjack, baccarat, pai gow poker, pai gow tiles, and three card poker. My wife plays craps, blackjack, pai gow poker, three card poker, roulette, and slots. She goes to sleep earlier, which probably explains the difference in comps.
Sat: we landed at 2pm after a slight delay. My wife surprised me by having a black Escalade waiting to take us to Encore. I’m a sucker for SUVs. We were directed to the express (electronic) check-in, which couldn’t scan our IDs or find our reservations, but an attendant helped us. We opted to wait for a strip-facing room, and were rewarded with a top floor (63rd) room. We changed in the bathroom and gave our bags to the bellhop, heading straight to the pool. There was a great energy there, lots of people, very sunny. We played $15 craps and got in the water.
Encore Pool Casino
After changing we had a wonderful dinner at Andreas. My wife is allergic to shellfish so she loves their vegan sushi. I tried foie gras which was too rich. After that we gambled for many hours in the Players Lounge, playing $10 craps and $15 blackjack (6:5). The cocktail waitress was able to get me port wine for free by going to the bars. We tried out Night Swim at Encore Beach Club. Total disaster, I’ll spare you the full story, but they put us in the regular line (not expedited entry that hotel guests get), and the pool was closed. We left 30 seconds after getting in and a great floor manager at the casino later that night helped us get a refund and gave us a ticket for a free meal at Jardin. That’s Encore service :-)
Sun: started the day at Jardin. A beautiful restaurant but I find their options a little bit limited. Subtract alcohol and eggs and half the menu is gone! After that we went to the spa. Super beautiful and relaxing. I got my hair cut and styled at the salon, followed by makeup. My wife got a blowout. We both felt great after that and took lots of pictures. We headed over to Bellagio to play craps and eat dinner at Prime. We were nearly alone on the patio facing the fountains.
Prime's patio
Food was just amazing. The filet we split was an earthy brown on the inside. I wonder if that’s from dry aging, or from doing it sous vide. Either way the best filet I’ve ever had.
Filet at Prime
After that we went to Caesars to see Absinthe. It was super loud, but the show was fantastic!!
Beauty at Absinthe :P
Absinthe performers
After the show we met with a colleague of mine in Caesars who was in town for a conference and showed him how to play craps. We finished the night at Encore, gambling mostly in the Players Lounge.
Mon: woke up a little hung over to a room service breakfast of bacon, hash brown, and beignets. We went to check out Red Rock Casino but left in a grumpy state after an hour because of how loudly they play country pop in there, as well as commercials for their Players’ Card, which sounds just like a bad radio station ad, and creates a terrible atmosphere. For lunch we ate at Charlie’s Bar & Grill, and checked out Wynn’s completely redesigned sports book. The hot dog was great. I decided to get my first ever massage at Encore spa. It was beyond amazing, so profesional, so skilled. I used the hot tubs and reading room too. My wife took the opportunity to nap. I was doing well on bankroll so I played some $25 at 3:2 blackjack (instead of $15 at 6:5). Then we went to the buffet. We ate too much! But it was amazing. I made sure to get plenty of crab legs this time, while my wife was given a personal tour from the chef to show her what was safe to eat. He even offered to personally cook any item separately to make certain there was no cross-contamination with shellfish.
Wynn Buffet
We both felt uncomfortably stuffed after that. Gambling in the Players Lounge rounded out a great day.
Tues: woke up to a delicious mango from room service. The day before they said no mangoes were ripe. If they don’t have a perfect mango, they don’t serve it :-) We walked to to Venetian/Palazzo. We ate lunch at Grimaldi’s which served a wonderful thin crust pizza in a NY themed setting.
Pizza at Grimaldi
We toured the mall, got some Honolulu cookies, and gambled in the Venetian. It was a little hectic in there for my taste. However, you can play in the high limit room for only a $50 bacc bet, which I thought was a great value. Next we did the Star Wars virtual reality attraction, which we loved. After that we went to Palazzo. I liked that Palazzo was less crowded, with fewer tourists running through. I played some $25 Pai Gow Poker in the green chip pit next to the high limit room while wifey played slots--she was very excited to find a Casablanca machine. We canceled our dinner reservations at Lakeside and decided to get room service. I ate a delicious Reuben sandwich with chicken noodle soup and she ate a cheese melt with tomato soup. We finished the night in Encore’s Player Lounge as usual.
Weds: we started with room service of scrambled eggs and english muffins. While my wife packed I talked to the casino host who gave us some great comps off our room bill. I played some bacc in the high limit room, winning $300 as a fantastic sendoff. My wife, on her way out, placed a single $100 blackjack (3:2) bet and got dealt a ten and an ace, blackjack! It was a great moment. The black Escalade took us to McCarran and we were on our way!
Lessons learned: sleep in or you won’t feel right the rest of the day. Don’t try to eat too many high-end meals, they’re just too rich and leave us feeling overstuffed. Don’t go to the nightclubs if you’re expecting the same kind of personalized friendly service you get elsewhere on property. They’re pretty gruff, probably from dealing with drugged out 20-somethings. And the biggest lesson of all: spend a little extra to get exactly the trip you want. Encore charges a premium but to us it’s more than worth it.
Thanks for Reading :-)

[TOMT][MOVIE][2000s] Heist movie where a group robs a casino

The main character was this guy who was some kind of con artist or something recently released from prison. I think he gets a group together to rob a Las Vegas casino and most of the movie is the planning and execution of the heist. I remember specifically there’s a woman and her son staying in a run down motel in the desert and he sleeps with the woman and at some point the kid takes his gun and I think hides it in his closet because he wants to keep it. The woman is a stripper or maybe just a cocktail waitress. I think the main guy steals the woman’s car also. I thought the mom was either Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta-Jones, but neither of those turned up the movie. This could possibly be a random episode from a tv show, but I really think it was a movie.
It’s not any of the Ocean’s movies. I know it’s mostly the same plot as Ocean’s 11 but it’s definitely not that.

Hospitality jobs in Vegas

I’m thinking of moving to Vegas from LA soon and I’d love some insight. How do people in the industry fair? I’m a waitress currently and was thinking of cocktailing at a casino, but if I can still make decent money and avoid second hand smoke I think I’d prefer restaurants :) I really enjoyed that list someone posted recently about the Vegas restaurants with the best views, very cool and inspiring. Thanks for your help!

I live in Australia and I'm planning a surprise holiday to Las Vegas for a friend's 30th bday. What should we see or do?

So far the only plans set in stone are driving from LA to Las Vegas. Is there anything quirky or out of the ordinary that we should see or do? We will be flying into LA Feb 2012. So there is a lot of time to organise and figure out what to do while we are in the US. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

IamA former Slot Tech Manager, current slot technician, and usually late to all Casino-related threads. Almost every casino related AMA is wrong or speculative. I want to clarify and clear the air, so feel free to AMA!

EDIT - I'll answer these questions until the end of time, so please do refer to this thread if you have an aching casino question. This includes you too media, who always manages to fuck up - and I mean ROYALLY - most questions pertinent to the casino industry and gambling in general. Note to mods - maybe we can start a new subreddit called "AMA-forever" where people can ask/share information about a particular topic/subject until the end of time. Waddya think?
My short bio: I currently work for a slot machine manufacturer supporting my company's games in the state of CA. I'm also licensed in Nevada, Colorado, and Oregon. I've done it all - dealt table games, worked on shufflers, cleared coin hoppers in cash dispensing kiosks, managed a team of slot technicians all older than me, supervised slot projects, and gone to state court hearings as a consultant. After commenting on this story: Gamblers ordered to return $1.5 million they won, I was axed to do an AMA. Want to work in this industry? Want to know what's really rigged? How do the Vegas buffets make money? What's the worst thing I've seen? How many cocktail waitresses have I banged? Ask away and I'll answer truthfully!

Had a fun time!. - my review

We got in around 2:45 this past Thursday. Our flight had around 50 Miami University students. (Allegiant flight and the loudest I have been on).
I am 41 and by no means a party pooper, but these kids were all in the aisle the entire flight, and ran the flight out of booze and ice. One also started vaping out in the open. The flight crew was not happy about that. but all in all a good flight.

Got to the Linq and tried the $50 sandwich trick. No luck, guy said he couldn't accept tips as they were under surveillance.

Walked up to Harrah's, Casino Royale (alwayst a fun shit-hole :) ), Venetian, etc.

Stopped at Walgreens TWICE to get 2 tall boys for $7.00.

Had the trash can nachos at Guy Fieri's as we didnt want to eat anything large as it was late.

Friday AM (slight hangover), we hit Hash House (service was sloooooow), food was good. Took a Uber to downtown. Wife went to Freemont and I walked down to Downtown Tattoo (had an appt for a touchup and a new piece). That walk was so quiet, it was eerie..like literally a ghost town.

Ate dinner at Pizza Rock, gambled, and enjoyed all the motorocycles/bikers and crap. Good times.

Saturday, we ate breakfast at Hexx in Paris. Was decent. Did some walking around and hit up Miracle Mile shops, and all the casinos in that area. More gambling.

We decided to hit up Sugar Factory for dinner. My wife said "all the celebs post about this joint, we gotta try it". The idea was novel. Service was TERRIBLE. We sat upstairs, ordered the rainbow sliders and some wings, and a Drake drink. Food arrived before the cocktail. Wife and I sucked the cocktail down in a couple minutes (Most was frozen rock solid due to the dry ice they used). $40 bucks for that drink, but hey its Vegas... The poor waitress was the only server on the second level.

More gambling, etc.

Early Sunday AM, the fire alarm went off at the Linq, scared the shit out of me. We are fumbling to get dressed, get our phones wallet/purse. Leave our room..only a few others are headed outside. We get outside...alarm stops..no all clear message, etc..so we go back up and head to bed.

Sunday AM - breakfast at "off the strip". More walking around at shops, gambling, etc. Ate diner at Buddy Vs.

I did notice a ton of the bracelet peddlers, no big deal as I just said "no thanks"

One dude was on the same walkway each day kept rapping "Put a buck in my cup..and I will shut the fuuuuck up"...over and over. Wonder how much money he makes.

Cocktail waitresses seem to be more sparse than what I remember. I had maybe 4 free drinks the trip. (but I did not go there to get free booze)..its just a perk if you get a freebie here or there.

The trip was fun, but the day before we left, I had to put down my 13 year old lab...so I had a bit of a cloud over me...as I loved my dog...

Also, very odd thing..my stomach felt off the entire time I was in town. Not sure what was going on...but I didnt nearly eat or drink like I normally do. Felt the same way about 1.5 years ago when I was there. Maybe it was the daily acid reducer I took in prep for bouts of hearburn?

I was able to add a few more $1 chips to my chip collection...

Until next time Vegas. You guys definitely are some good people.
